Thanks. Another one for my list.
I love anything to do with fraud investigations.

"Money. Romance. Tragedy. Deception. The story of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos is an unbelievable tale of ambition and fame gone terribly wrong. How did the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire lose it all in the blink of an eye? How did the woman once heralded as “the next Steve Jobs” find herself facing criminal charges — to which she pleaded not guilty — and up to 20 years in jail? How did her technology, meant to revolutionize healthcare, potentially put millions of patients at risk? And how did so many smart people get it so wrong along the way?"
On the subject of grand projects going horribly wrong (usually down to the originator of the idea having ambitions beyond their capabilities), I'd recommend this pod cast and the Netflix documentary -
It's about the chaos that was The Fyre Festival

If you like fraud cases Swindled is a great podcast. I love anything to do with fraud investigations.
Unfortunately I can’t stand overly intrusive background music, which seems to be the current fad, so I didn’t get very far with the crypto queen podcast.
But get over that and it was well produced with a lot of interesting content, the ways how onecoin fabricated their status was particularly interesting, and the psychology of the quasi-religious approach, and how people "allow" themselves to be exploited is an interesting area they should have gone into more, or made a follow up - I didn't even know of the unrest of Albania - these schemes see so completely obviously fraudulent and you think "how could you be so dumb" but loads of people keep on getting conned. I remember when i was a kid growing up in small town there'd be flyers for these bonanza sales held every so often promising fantastic bargains, TVs for a few quid etc, but my mum laughed and said they were shams where they put on a show, worked a room into hysteria by selling some people "great bargains" then worked on peoples FOMO and flogged/auctioned mystery packages etc of tatt. There's nothing new under the sun.

same as most of the BBC output - they've brought yesterdays mass media model of pandering to the stupid and short attention span lowest common denominator, with patronising presentation, short easy-to-digest chapters, and constant recaps/what's coming up/explainations of everything, to the podcast environment.
Several years ago I tied listening to the audiobook version of Dan Brown's Da Vinci CodeIt was impossible to listen to for exactly that reason, God knows how anyone ever managed to read the book itself

"The Dropout"
The story of Elizabeth Holmes and the rise and fall of Theranos (a company that claimed to be able to conduct hundreds of tests on a single drop of blood). As the company collapsed, after a piece of investigative journalism from the WSJ, she went from being the youngest self-made female billionaire to having little or no net worth.
I read John Carreyrou's book "Bad Blood" (which is probably a better account) but hearing the real testimony of some of the main players is interesting.
Just finished this - Absolutely loved it. I've listened to the Cryptoqueen - shame there's no closure on that one and I've done the Fake Heiress too
I'm currently enjoying Dying for Sex which is about a woman with cancer who decides to go on some sexual adventures before she dies. It's very graphic but not what I'd call salacious, and in places it's actually quite moving.
I also liked Passenger List, a drama about an MH370 type incident. Very atmospheric. It's produced by John Dryden who made all of my favourite radio dramas including the aforementioned Fatherland.

I've been catching up on the BR8 'Mek it Talk' podcasts.
It might annoy those got annoyed by the Chasin the Racin podcasts as it has a similar style. But it's a really good and informative podcast looking at the bike racing scene from a grass roots perspective, namely the British Minibike racing series.
Only 6 episodes in but I'm really enjoying it .... And starting to want a pit bike myself too!

Season 2 of 13 Minutes to the Moon is now available, first episode released on Monday & it's very good.
Brilliant. Why’s there a season 2 though, I though season 1 ended up on the moon?
(joking aside S2's about Apollo 13)
Oddly it looks like I didn’t finish season 1 maybe it’s just the way the podcast app shows listened to and deleted episodes. I’m sure I remember the lunar landing itself.
