Don't know if it's been mentioned already but, anyone who has an interest in cyber security or true crime with an internet twist should check out darknetdiaries.com, "True stories from the dark side of the internet".

I really enjoyed a run of episodes covering the middle east. They covered subjects like the hack on Saudi Aramco, how the US created one of the most advanced pieces of malware to take out Iran's uranium enrichment capability and Israel's Cyber warfare/intelligence branch, Unit 8200.

A new Musk podcast on Joe Rogan. Not bad.

Ear hustle. Prison podcast from the states. Worth a listen.

Artie Lange - Probably already mentioned. It's got a lot of potential. I find Artie hilarious.

Talking Sopranos - Also probably already mentioned. Weekly chat about every episode of the sopranos. Still in season 1 at the moment.

Inside Skunk Works

All about the stories and projects of the Lockheed Martin Skunk Works division. Plenty of great stuff about high tech planes and very intelligent people.

I'll deffo do that.

Meanwhile I've finally got round to TheSmoking Tyre.

Generally excellent. I started with the Chris Harris one which was great. Loads of interesting interviews. The Ruf one was brilliant. Recent ones with a bloke who rebuilds Italian stuff, the bloke off Pimp My Ride/Car Kings really interesting. The past two weekends I've been building a log store and it's great to have long, rambly, interesting podcasts which last 90 minutes + full of super-nerdy details.

Ross Kemp TV

You can probably guess the type of content. Enjoyed the first one but as with most new to podcast presenters, they need to learn to direct but not interject.

I'm trying out podcast addict now. It seems ok with only minor issues.
I know this is an old post, but I'm just moving from Podcast Addict to Google Podcasts for one very simple reason. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to get Podcast Addicts to play a podcast from the oldest episode to the newest!

You'd think it would be simple, wouldn't you? From what I can tell both from their own FAQ and also from googling it, all you get is the developer telling you you're stupid and directing you to some supposedly simple instructions, which people still don't seem to be able to get working!

I reckon you might find that people want to listen newest to oldest in a very small proportion of cases, but surely for the vast majority you'd want to start at the beginning? Imagine you've just found a series you want to listen to whilst driving. From what I could tell, if you want to start to listen at episode 1 and just keep going, you have to either manually create a playlist (and I don't know how to create a separate playlist for each podcast) or you have to play each episode, then manually start the next one.

Google Podcasts, on the other hand, just has a little up/down arrow button just as you'd expect, so it's nice and easy! smile

In Our Time podcast from BBC-R4.
Melvyn Bragg and guests discuss (apparently) random historical/science topics. Invariably excellent.
I'd recommend skipping the first series or so. It's fine to have things which don't talk down to the lowest common denominator, but I found the first few were just a smug circle-jerk of him and his guests revelling in the fact that they clearly knew far more about the specific subject than anyone listening!

On the plus side, there's something like 30 years of them to listen to, so you're only skipping a small percentage! hehe

I'm using PA which is alright but they all seem to miss a few don't they?

Idea of using another Google service the opportunity of more personal data to snoop on and hit me with creepy adverts doesn't do it for me though thanks!

What's it about?
Some boring middle-class student types talking about a specific subject their academic virtues have enabled them to read up on for the benefit of each show. The only amusing bit being their complete lack of knowledge about anything else.
Blimey! There has to be a pretty major shoulder chip in there somewhere! rofl

Amazing how they've managed to come up with over 1,200 topics in their supposed specific academic subjects over the years!

How have the poor, deluded 9,000 or so reviewers on Apple podcasts alone been connect so appallingly into giving them a 4.8 star average rating?

If recent history has taught us anything, it's that the popular opinion isn't always the correct one.

Heads up for Gossipmongers series 3.
OK, I've got to ask. Am I missing a whoosh parrot or something here?

I've just listened to episode 1 whilst out walking the dog based on the number of people raving about it on this thread, and it manages to be even unfunnier than Melvyn Bragg! Are all the people who've recommended it actually the presenters on the show who've hit on a guerrilla marketing tactic to get people listening to their show?

Take a bunch of completely made up stories about people which would've been funny to you and your mates as kids because you all knew the subject of the story and then remove all the actual value of the story by telling it to a bunch of strangers on a podcast who don't know the subject of the rumour??? How on earth is that supposed to be funny?

There are some things I find absolutely hilarious which I'm sure others don't, I'm sure, but even on things that I don't particularly get the humour in, I can see why others would find it funny. This, on the other hand, was marginally less giggle-inducing than the News headlines I listened to just before it! It didn't raise even a hint of a smile, never mind an actual laugh! Utterly inane drivel from start to finish.

If it is a practical joke, then well played, as I fell for it hook, line and sinker!

Have to agree on Gossipmongers. I thought it was rubbish.
