Eccles did it, just tripped Ken and that's it! Put Eccles in a kennel (or Canal?) for ever!

How dare you suggest that (although my mum is agreeing). I'll look after her if she's guilty.

Tracy has an Interflora franchise for her florists shop - she has just completed the florist's Holy Trinity of paydays. Christmas, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. It's what keeps florists going for the rest of the year.

Obviously she had no collateral to offer the bank for the shop purchase, but surely she would have had a substantial sum to offer the bank as a deposit?
Isn't she renting it from Peter? If he sells the freehold, she'd just have a new landlord.

She had been talking about buying the shop from Peter, so I assumed he held the freehold, and she was actually buying the bricks and mortar.

If you 'own' the bricks and mortar you own the freehold.

Loved the ending as the policewoman addressed the family, and the camera panned from one person to the next. Good old-fashioned drama and tension. Da da Dahhhhhh........

I think Daniel, Tracy, Amy and Peter and Eccles can be ruled out, the obvious candidates are Adam and Pat Phelan, but equally it could have been a random opportunistic burglar...Plenty of intrigue to come....

Anyone notice the look on Kev's face when Johnny handed Jenny his credit card?...And Kev being desperate too....

I spotted that too. Just waiting now for Rosie's glamour shoot - hopefully we'll get an eyeful.

That'd be a fair enough storyline - but she's acting like she'll have to close down if he sells the freehold aka bricks & mortar.

Maybe there's no official lease. Is it possible Peter is just taking rent off her each month as cash in hand?

If Peter Barlow does own the freehold, where did he get the money from to buy the property in the first place?

Does he have a mortgage on it?

It seems to me he is always skint.

It's all gone quiet on the Bethany front, Nathan's mate must be chomping at the bit by now, let's hope she gives him a good kick in the goolies, although she'll probably either be drunk or drugged.

I can't recall Peter ever buying the shop. He opened it as the bookies when he left the Navy, but I remember him losing it in a bet with Rob Donovan. How did he regain it? Tracy re-opened it first as the pawn shop and then the florists. Presumably she's paying rent to Peter who must be sub-letting. As someone has said, how can she buy it if Peter only owns the lease?

Lots going on at the moment. Good stuff (some might say "at last"). There's the Bethany story, and also when will Eva finally twig about Aidan the A***hole? Can Maria keep schtum?
