Netflix - What gems have you found?
Discussion
Just finished Somebody Feed Phil; a series starring Phil Rosenthal, don't know who he is, I guess an american comedian of sorts.
Anyway; Phil, he goes around various countries, sampling their local food and hidden gem restaurants, as I love my food, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
There are loads of other great food shows on Netflix too; Ugly Delicious being another.

I enjoyed both of these... Somebody feed Phil was great! amused me when he skypes his parents at the end of each one... Anyway; Phil, he goes around various countries, sampling their local food and hidden gem restaurants, as I love my food, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Designated Survivor - starts interesting but soon descends into ludicrous seen before rubbish.
Don’t even bother contemplating continuing. It’s garbage after the initial fairly interesting idea.I'm 8 1/2 episodes in - its 21 episodes long!
Binned.

I stopped after a few episodes, main reason was the rather unattractive anorexic woman who seems to be able to do amazing martial arts stuff in her platform heels as well as being very clever, determined and afraid of nothing.
When they repeated the exact same scene but with two different 'victims' in season 1 and season 2 I totally lost it. I could live with the overacting during the first season but I properly lost my rag at that point in the second season; it's just lazy screenwriting. I've never had such a strong reaction to a programme before but I felt like I was being totally mugged off as a viewer.Stu-nph26 said:
I'm sure it has been mentioned on here before, but, I'm 8 episodes into Hitler's Circle of Evil and so far its brilliant. Might try and get it finished tonight.
Anyone recommend any other WW2 docs on Netflix?

I think I'm upto about episode 8 now too... and I've stopped watching the episodes 'back to back' - (obviously) Its pretty uneasy viewing.
Worthwhile watching though, even if you are familiar with the details.

Manhunt: Unabomber is well worth watching, chucked it on over the weekend and I was hooked.
I was a little kid when it happened so didn't know much about it. The 8 ep series is about 80% accurate apparently, which isn't bad going for a dramatisation.
Cheers for the recommendation - same here, I knew the name but none of the facts.I was a little kid when it happened so didn't know much about it. The 8 ep series is about 80% accurate apparently, which isn't bad going for a dramatisation.
Really like the way that plot played out.

White Gold - Good comedy series starring Jay and Simon from The Inbetweeners, based on a double glazing showroom in 1983 and the scams they get up to - really funny in places, and a great soundtrack
Yes very funny, it was originally aired last year I think on one of the terrestrial channels.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
