Watched it now. Enjoyed it. It was decently written, not preachy at all really with some jeopardy. There were still some lighter moments in what was a pretty heavy storyline. Probably my favourite of what has been a patchy set of episodes up to now.
Definitely best episode of the season so far, also feels like production values have been upped somewhat. I do feel like I’d like more of Seth’s humour come through, I think that’s what sets it apart from being just a Star Trek clone.

I suspect the humour was making telling dramatic stories difficult - they quickly moved into telling more dramatic stories and sometimes the one liners didn't sit well with that. Dificult line to tread, although I loved the silly humour, it felt more like a ST spoof early one.

Great episode. She made a convincing enemy boss.

Like a less annoying Seskia.

Was TNG so in your face with its metaphors like this season?
Weirdly apt in light of today's ruling in the US.

Deliberate? The judges decision has been known for a few months but I think S3 was filmed ages ago.

Yeah I can see the dilemma, and it supports the character development of Ed moving from goofy, inexperienced captain to a competent one being taken seriously.

Although the Orville never felt like a spoof to me (like spaceballs was to Star Wars), it’s more like an homage to the genre.

Yeah, that's probably more accurate. I was tired. hehe

Felt like a super long episode with the OTT dramatic music playing for minutes on end. Crap episode, it was clearly a dig at Trump and the interference with politics, but painful all the way.
I thought it was more of a homage to the film Star Trek VI where the Klingons and Federation form an uneasy alliance and a rogue Klingon element tries to stop it?

I have a feeling that parts of this storyline will be revisited later in the series.

Latest episode was top notch. Won't please anyone looking for laughs every 30 seconds but really well done, I thought. Best of the season so far.

I prefer the first two season, not really a fan of Seth, but this is the only show I've watched. I don't think the older episodes were all jokes, they dealt with some tough topics.

These season for me just don't do it, it ha gone too serious and just find it tiresome to watch, feels like every other sci-fi in space now, which besides the original star trek, I don't watch.

I can see it is being praised from the hills but I guess I'm in the minority.

It was good to see a resolution to the episode from the previous series.

On a related note, I watched A Million Ways To Die In The West yesterday, very enjoyable film from Seth if you want a dose of his humour.

The scene with doc brown is probably one of my favourite cameo scenes in a movie ever, still cracks me up.

Just watched a Tale of 2 Topas. ST Discovery take note, this is how you tackle a tricky topic of today without shoehorning it in for the sake of it and ramming it down your throat. Good ep.

Have to agree. Similar subject matter covered but in a far better way in The Orville.

Klyden is such a wet blanket, glad they’ve been got rid of. Also thought for a moment we’d lose the doctor and got a little bit excited. Hopes dashed!
