There's a documentary series called The Horn (fnar) which follows an air ambulance/mountain rescue crew around Zermatt and the Matterhorn. Not overly bombastic, and the whole crew are incredibly humble. Really enjoyed watching some of their alpine rescues.
I mentioned this earlier in the thread and agree, it was an interesting watch and much respect for the crew and what they do, not an easy job but must be a very interesting/exciting thing to do!

Definitely – I was really impressed with the chap who'd started as a runner and had worked his way up to helicopter mechanic.

Probably mentioned earlier but the Staircase is available with some more episodes. Shows the Justice system in the US to be very flawed.

Nope the Original was 8 episodes. Then He did another 2 to bring it up to date as of 2010 ish. The 3 bring it to 13 which I believe came out in 2017. Even if he had done it I don't believe that set of prosecutors could have proved anything.

I must have been late to the party. I wanted all 13 back to back.

I believe it was released on Netflix with all 13 episodes, but was previously aired on TV with the shorter version some time ago.

Just got to season 2 of Brooklyn Nine Nine.

What a great series.

Was looking for something to follow modern family, life in pieces, the good place, parks and recreation type shows and it’s perfect.

Police comedy with some great characters, 20 min episodes PERFECT for low brow binge watching,

The Defiant Ones

Mentioned in the thread recently mostly in replies to "Unsolved" but definitely deserves it's own mention.

Four part documentary (mostly) about Jimmy Iovine and Dr Dre but a fascinating insight into the music business as a whole with some stunning original and behind the scenes footage.

Everyone from Bruce Springsteen through Stevie Nicks through Bono through Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) features.

If you are into your music - this is well worth a watch.

Kim’s Convenience

Sitcom about a Korean family in Canada who run a convenience store.

I’ve just binged on series 1 and it’s brilliant. It’s very gentle comedy on the whole and all the better for it. Good acting from all the cast and some lovely dialogue and storylines.

I've seen 2 episodes of "One of Us" which also seems to be called Retribution. 2 episodes in and I'm really enjoying it smile

Fauda

Israeli TV series about an undercover ISF unit hunting for a Hamas terrorist, completely gripping and does not appear to be biased towards Israel or Palestine. Plenty of action, shoot outs etc so probably worth avoiding if you prefer something slower and not so brutal

  • Make sure its set to Hebrew with subtitles, mine defaulted to something else and the dubbing was awful

Final Space - animated space adventure thing which I won't try to describe.

Much much better than you might think it would be from a quick look at the drawing style.

Watched this a number of months back and also really enjoyed it.

I've just started watching "The Code" - Australian series, and so far it's worth a watch IMO.

Calibre
Couple of city boys go on a hunting weekend in Scotland, tragedy strikes, and they have to stay there for the rest of the weekend dealing with their own morals and some rather unnerving locals. Pretty good film, quite tense in places and gets you thinking how easily things can go so wrong 7/10
I really enjoyed this one if a little far fetched.
I enjoyed it too.
We watched it last night after reading this a few days ago.

Really enjoyed it too, thx for the heads up.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I'm a big Simpsons fan (more so the earlier years, mind!) so I'll be keen to see what this is like. It does, perhaps, spell the beginning of the end of The Simpsons?
