Ahhh what a shame, I liked Charlie.

Not sure why thought fish and egg was so weird, kedgeree, smoked salmon and scrambled egg, salmon Benedict etc all quite normal brunch dishes.

Tom for the win I hope though Kasae seems to be getting better by the task

I thought Tommy would go and also don't understand not liking egg with the sea bass!

It's a great final three but we've got an episode of nonsense on Denmark too get through next ...

It's a two horse race IMHO and I'm going to put my money on the Aussie filly at slightly longer odds than the GT.

Also liked Charlie, shame a bit too brave with the egg though. Kasae for me seems head and shoulders above the others now.
Great to see Anna at the chefs tables cloud9

I made exactly the same dish comparisons, his dish was also one of the best looking dishes served, second only to Toms I think.

I'd agree with that. Kasae's dish was all sorts of amazing technically but it didn't look great

All of those dishes are very different to a very gently cooked fish and a barely cooked egg. Un-set white literally spewed from the egg when he cut it.

Yeah fair point that egg white did look under done though none of the judges mentioned that.

I've had sat bains slow cooked duck egg and it was a very similar consistency to Charlies egg when he first cut it and it was utterly delicious and I don't normally like "underdone" eggs.

We'll agree to disagree, as I absolutely cannot stand very softly cooked eggs - but in any case there's obviously a texture issue with a barely set white and a soft piece of poached fish/mousse. Also a sous vide egg is very different to a softly boiled egg, which is what he did.

The idea of almost runny white on flaky moist fish is actually making my stomach turn a bit.

Personally I'm just glad that I won't have to see another sous-vide fish.

I believe what we saw was an egg being cut to test. It certainly did not resemble what was presented to the diners. I suspect they went back in for a few seconds.

No-one's talking about the Harry Kane lookie-likie. That main he did at Chefs Table looked right up my alley, but the other two are just that little bit better. Casae for me, as I still think that Toms nerves get to him.

One thing that bugs me about Chefs Table is that the poor sap who gets starters always gets roped in to help the others after getting their own prep done and serving on time.

Ahh ok.

He reminds me of the tall kid from the inbetweeners. Neil?

Anyway, yeah, great chef!

Funny, I'd have picked Charlie over Tommy as the main complaint that Monica and Marcus had was that they didn't think the egg and fish went together. I don't recall any complaints about the actual cookery of either, whereas Tommy was too rushed to get some of his stuff cooked and presented properly.
