The current Halifax ad.
Could be a satire on all modern TV ad cliches.
But its for real.
God this is so annoying! And appears to be on at every advert break. They must have a lot of spare cash (ours?) to splash on a ridiculous ad campaign. BTW What does "It's a people thing" actually mean? There is another one with "It's a family thing"! How about "It's a thingy thing"!

Beko pro carrot propaganda, knock the critical thought and original thinking out of the kid (she clearly had it to start) and use peer pressure to compel compliance.

One of only two adverts that I will mute or change channels for. The other being Freeman's, which is nothing short of a full blast ear bleeding aural assault.

Post Office over 50s life cover .
Obligatory mixed race couple,Black guy and smug white woman on scooters. The way she cuts the corner, she’ll need her life insurance.
Did I mention how smug she was?

Debbie McGee can't be short of a bob or two, so why does she do adverts?

I doubt either are short of a few bob, just a few brain cells.
Maybe they are hawking for a millionaire to attract who likes stretched faces.

Ironically, the most memorable, the Sun Alliance TV excess campaign, use unknown actors.

Omaze. The ad to raffle a £3m house in Devon (plus anAston Martin if you buy before Sunday).

1. The woman found it is really irritating with her little girl voice.
2. The pretence that it’s for charity. £100k. to Childline. OK better than nothing but if the prize is £3m, that must be expecting to raise at least £5m.
Think she must have read this. Just seen a new Omaze advert and she's almost speaking normally. Still an irritating advert, but at least it no longer sounds like it's voiced by a 5 year old girl on acid.

Hyundai ad for electric car, endless pregnant women in the ad, and the final bit is a couple with an expectant mother posing like a supermodel in the sunset in front of a car charging port next to a car.,

I mean what bloody planet do the gormless ad executives live on!

I see that, and I get that 10% of £10m is better than 100% of £100k, but it’s still presented as if it’s a charity draw , rather than a commercial enterprise giving a donation on the back of making a big profit.
How many people bother to look at their website in detail?
Cynic in me , thinks there must be a tax advantage too.
Having said that, a lot of charities are so inefficient , admin just consumes most of the money raised.

+1
Charities justifying any fund raising activity providing it raises something, however small. As you say, the person giving the donation may not be so happy, as they would hope/assume that the vast percentage of their money was spent on the good cause.

They make it clear that on their website that that is their big advantage. Not sure how many people who are tempted by this sort of gambling are doing it as a charitable exercise
