I have heard this a lot, even our friends said it was crap, yet it's getting good reviews!
Did the reviewers all have white sticks? Believe me it is c-rap. The old Charlton Heston Moses type films from the 60's have more merit, and compare for special effect quality...nearly. In fact I would watch a Charlton Heston biblical epic over this excuse for film entertainment anyday.

Can I have my money back please and a consideration for wasting my time. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being best I would give it -473
Agree, it's pants. He comes across as a self-righteous tt as well. It's never once suggested that the un-holy evil beings that are human are as God intended hehe

Wouldn't recommend it at all to be honest. The only positive was it was shot with some nice scenery but that's about it.

Noah- absolutly dire. Please do not waste your money or time. If we hadn't been sat in the middle of a long row in a full cinema (others conned like us with the hype and names of actors in the film) we would have left.

Magic ficton/fantasy(ish) with very poor CGI given that its 2014, plus poor acting by people who can do a lot better. It had the potential to be a truly great epic given the subject, but failed miserably.

One of the few times I have felt duped (another being Blair Witch). You get 3 score years and 10, don't waste 2.5 hrs on this tripe.

ps Noah wasn't a good builder he got rock things to do it for him.
I've no intention to see it. It'll be Russell Crowe being Russell Crowe in a different costume.

Apocalypto

Mrs Johnny bought of for me a few weeks ago, as I'd not seen it. Got round to it last night.

What a bloody great film. Brutal. Lovely cinematography & score. Tense & compelling, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Solid 9/10 for me.

Outlander - Vikings vs Spacemen vs Aliens.
Excusing some poor CGI it was actually quite entertaining. I feel that they started out with ideas for something a bit different (Earth = abandoned Seed Colony) which was never explored in favour of a monster fight movie.
6/10

The Counselor.

Enjoyed some of it, but think they could have added a bit more to the story.

6 out of 10.

I watched F&F 6 yesterday.
Pretty much the same plot, same cast, same stunts; just more, and more ridiculous/unbelievable.
Still, pretty watchable, and those of an age to have played car racing games would probably enjoy it a lot.

Both end of the scale for me this weekend.

Robocop (2013)
2/10

One of the worst films i have ever seen. Im a fan of the original but still went in with an open mind like i did with Total Recall and was looking forward to a new take on the story. What i found was a complete lack of engagement with any of the characters, boring shoot out scenes, lack of storyline, a bad guy that was not particularly bad - the only redeeming feature was a cool 5 minute scene where they took all of his armour off revealing just a head and a set of lungs. It really was terrible. In so many ways.

It was just filled up with so much crap that wasnt necessary. He didnt even have a cool gun.

Mean Girls (2004)
Id forgotten how funny this film was. Its a guilty pleasure of mine but has so many good moments it reminded me of the dry homour you'd find in the naked gun. I cant quite put my finger on it but it made me laugh so much.

Solid 8/10 (flame suit on)

The Campaign
The only film i like Will Ferrel in was Anchorman, so im a not a huge fan. I only watched this because i was channel surfing and it came on. I loved it. Its satirical and a cheesy take on the american political system, plays on the pointless cruelty between candidates and not the actual issues and also has some bizarre moments that you'll either find funny or you wont:- such as accidentally punching a baby.

8/10 from me - definitely one for my funny collection.

Deffo! Pretty much the only non-Anchorman film of Ferrell's that i think is funny. Of course, most of the humour comes from the short beardy guy from the hangover films (eg the scene at the start where hes walking through town saying hello to everyone by name and you just hear this voice from behind camera saying "i have no idea who you are...")

This weekend i watched Lord of War, which i thought was very good, which surprised me because it starred Nicolas Cage.

The Way Way Back - Bit of a late comer to this, but watched it on Saturday night. Thought it was very good. Good to see Steve Carell in a serious role and I think Sam Rockwell is good in pretty much most of his films. I'd give it 8/10

Grudge Match - Didn't take itself seriously at all and had some quite funny moments. 6/10
