Episode 1 of series 4 of For All Mankind now available. Can’t wait to get stuck in biggrin

Just renewed my subscription and rewatched series 3 which was far better than I remembered but still the weakest series so far.

Also watched the Morning Show having previously dismissed it assuming it was just a “kooky” comedy. It was anything but and a solid 8/10. I understand the following series are a letdown unfortunately…
Morning show was badly affected by COVID and should not have bothered, but the latest series seem to have left it's entire premise at the door and gone all out Grey's Anatomy story telling.... Shame.....
I really liked the first series, second series as you say was badly affected by Covid, I'm a few episodes into the third series and it reminds me of 24 where they just went more and more extreme.

Got a few free months from O2 so am seeking recommendations. Currently binging For All Mankind, which is brilliant. Maybe Silo and Slow Horses next.

Add in Bad Sisters, Shrinking, Tetris, The Banker, Big Door Prize, Hello Tomorrow and, even though not many would agree, Finch.

That should keep you busy smile

Yep gave Bad Sisters a go and really enjoying it. Very very funny in places and extremely entertaining.

2 episodes in of S4 of FAM and it’s shaping up nicely. Some interesting new characters and plots developing.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters

Good first episode. Links in well to previous Universal monster films.

Lessons in Chemistry has been surprisingly enjoyable, my wife loved the book and I'm enjoying the series. Brie Larson can be a bit too unemotional and weird at times, but it's a decent watch.

She's a good fit then!

I've enjoyed it so far. Does feel like it could just run though.

The Crowded Room - Half way through and it's really ramped up! E01 and E02 were a bit slow, but I was recommended it and stuck with it, glad I did. Hoping it continues for the last few episodes.

Just catching up on this thread after getting five months free with Currys… Silo was highly recommended on here, so we’re three episodes in and whilst gripping, menacing and I do like the premise, I found that the third episode was quite a time waster with lots of non-tension over the generator that needed to be repaired.

Does the series have lots of wasted time, or is this episode just a blip? Wary, as there are around six hours of viewing remaining.

very draggy in parts............punctuated by some good bits, but i always felt it needed a bit shorter....but i'm like that with lots of these "new era" series on Apple/netflix/disney etc etc

For All Mankind episode 3 out today, no idea why it's two days early as back to Friday for episode 4 next week. Getting back on form with this one.

We managed to binge our way through the first series after a couple of late school nights; intriguing enough to have ordered the graphic novel of ‘Wool’ to swot up a little on the lengthier tale, but it was quite hard work at times. Overall, quite enjoyable but too much wasted time for my liking.

It's Thanksgiving in the USA tomorrow (Thursday), so heading into one of the biggest holiday weekends of the year there.
Lots of tv schedules and streaming services make changes to programming for the holiday weekend.
A bit like TV schedules for Christmas in the UK being all switched around and 'seasonal'.

Thought I'd give S2 of invasion a go after being disappointed with 1.

Lasted 5 mins... It's like it's written by children.

I'm starting to think it's a deliberate choice by Apple to have slower TV shows in their library - my wife often complains shows on Netflix are too intense and likes a lot of the Apple shows that are a bit slower paced so maybe this is Apple trying to differentiate themselves from Netflix and appealing to people like my wife who likes a bit more of a calm, plodding TV show?

Excellent. And I agree they’ve definitely learned from their S3 missteps…

Finished Bad Sisters last night. Didn’t think it would be my thing at all but really enjoyed it, extremely entertaining.

Slow Horses and Tetris next on the list.

Got the email yesterday about the £2/month price hike but I think there’s enough on there to keep it running for now. When FAM ends that Masters of the Air starts.

In fact the only “turkey” so far has been Invasion which isn’t a bad hit rate.

The Morning Show

I thought I would hate it.

now on S2 - very good drama, Jennifer Aniston is great, as well as being nice to look at.

The monster monarch thing.... Feels stretched to me and writing very basic and full of coincidence findings just at the right time before they need to know or have that thing just for the next scene....

Shame
