Spider-Man into the Spiderverse. Didn’t get it at all, thought it dragged on far too long (by about two hours) and was bored about ten minutes in. Normally if I don’t like a film I try to give it a second go to see if I got it wrong but I won’t bother in this case.

After all it's mentions, It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World is on tonight, bbc2. Hope it's not been 'pruned.'

The Prodigy

Very enjoyable young boy possessed by a serial hand chopper offer killer

That is one creepy kid.

The Bad Man

Bad clown & his homo gimp grooms young couple to sell

Don't think i've seen anything this weird in ages , Budget B movie but the clown played by Arthur Cullipher is really sensational in his creepyness.

Definitely one for the open mind.

That is two of the most cryptic one line plot descriptions I have ever seen.

I have read those 2 lines over and over and still have no clue what the movies are about!

The Professor

In a nutshell. A college professor lives his life with reckless abandon after being diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Out go the Pirates, costumes and all the dressing up shenanigans. Johnny Depp, playing Johnny Depp as you would think in a normal way.

I really enjoyed this film although the subject matter may not be to everyone's taste. Very entertaining black comedy in my opinion although not to the critics, (what do they know?).

7.3 tumours/10 terminals

If you have a penchant for weird, try this: Bad Boy Bubby . Not really suitable FAMILY entertainment

Once upon a time in Hollywood.

Overall disappointed. I guess if you live there, or are a part of the whole Hollywood thing, I can see why you'd enjoy it and why the critics have raved about it. It just felt like two and a half hours of not being quite in on the joke.

Deadpool 2

Watched 2 or 3 times now and I still really enjoy it. Lots of one liners, visual jokes you miss at first and Ryan Reynolds is just perfectly cast in my opinion.

I guess I fall into those who did (mostly) enjoy it. I felt that after an excellent first 2/3rds, there was a bit of an odd step when the voice-over started in the last 1/3, almost as if it was a different film. Perfectly happy with the ending and I thought it was a nice touch.

Not as good as Deadpool by a long long way. To be honest I actually found Ryan Reynolds more amusing in Pokémon Detective Pikachu (which is a surprisingly entertaining film) than Deadpool 2.

We watched Searching last night.

Chap's wife dies & then his daughter goes missing & he really has no idea about any of her friends & what she's been doing , All he has is his computer & his daughter's laptop to try & find out what has happened to her.

Chuck in a few red herrings & a couple of real goose bump moments & this really is a terrific little film.

Thoroughly recommended.

On Amazon Prime -

"Spacewalker".

A 2017 Russian language drama -doc film (with no subtitles) about Alexei Leonov and the first ever spacewalk in March 1965. Even though 99% of the dialogue was incomprehensible to me, I know the facts of the mission and a bit about Leonov's life so was able to follow the events pretty well. The CGI'd aircraft and spacecraft scenes are amongst the best I've seen in a big screen movie - with some interesting types being depicted (MiG 15, Tupolev Tu-104 Vomet Cometski, Mil helicopters of various types, Tupolev 95 Bear and, of course, the Voshkod spacecraft itself).

The sets were pretty convincing too and the actors portraying the key characters (Leonov, Pavel Balyaev, Sergei Korolev and Leonid Brezhnev) all looked pretty much like the real people.

Apparently, even though it won quite a few awards at various film festivals it didn't do so well at the box office. It was a kind of Russian version of "The Right Stuff" and "Apollo 13" combined.

Worth a watch if you don't mind not being able to follow the dialogue.

Didn't know that Lance Hendrikson was up for the role of the Terminator. I think he would have done a cracking job, as good as if not better than Robert Patrick. I reckon it would have been similar to his eerie turn as, Bishop in ALiens.

I wasn’t a massive fan of first man either.

I don’t know too much about Armstrong, but it didn’t paint him in a particularly good light.

I might have to dig the right stuff out again.

I love "The Right Stuff" - but it has lots of inaccuarcies in it too. The important thing is that it is honest in the sense that it correctly portrays the mood of the time and the attitudes of the Mercury 7 men. "First Man", to me, was downright misleading about who Armstrong was and what made him tick.

It looks stunning but with no way of understanding the plot it’s either a great film for native speakers or pretentious twaddle.

Back to Hollywood I agree about the voice over in the last section, seemed like a poor way to speed along the plot and to remind people who fell asleep what’s gone on.
