Actually, isn't "Never Say Never Again" not actually an 'official' Bond film? I seem to recall it's just a remake of Thunderball made by Mr Caulifower (or somebody else who wasn't Broccoli) at a time when ownership of the rights to Bond was under dispute.
That's correct. Only it does star Sean Connery who had famously said he would never play Bond again, hence the title.

Licorice Pizza (2021)

Coming of age film set in the 1970s, based loosely on actual events and memoirs.

Somewhat episodic, but well acted and pretty good entertainment, with a decent soundtrack.

IMDB gives it 7.3 and I'd suggest that's pretty much spot on.

Indeed, the first film i took my little brother to see. biggrin

Motorbike rather than car was the tricked up piece of kit low budget effort.

Kim Basinger is absolutely gorgeous though. Not a bad 'Bond' movie IMO.

The Last Legion - considering the amount of recognisable faces here it was quite a poor effort (actually put me in mind in quite of few places of the 50's/60's 'sword and sandals' films). I was shocked to see that the boy Caesar was actually 17 when it was released (thought he was about 12!) both in terms of looks and acting ability.

Jellyfish

Excellent British film. What we do best.

15-year-old girl who takes care of her younger siblings as the mother has problems. She’s given the task of doing a stand-up routine for the school talent show.

Fantastic acting by a 16-year-old Liv Hill.

One of the few films that didn’t disappoint. 9/10

Having seen a trailer for a film with Will Poulter in it (don't ask me what, I wasn't paying attention) I was scratching my head trying to think what he'd been in as a kid. Then I remembered... It was Son of Rambow. I watched again (on an old DVD) last night and it was brilliant, real simple British comedy.

Ambulance

Michael Bay film so wasn't expecting Dr Zhivago but this plumbs new depths of stupidness and cliche, cartoon characters.

Didn't care about anyhone in it, and got distracted quite afe wtimes with home tasks whcih is a bad sign.

Managed to last through to the cheesy ending

Poor 3/10

Uncharted

Enjoyable nonsense, based on the video game.

Nothing we haven't seen before.

Expect Uncharted 2 to follow

The unbearable weight if massive talent
Really really fun entertaining film. So rare to ever have an American take the mikey out of themselves.

Cage was the best parody of Cage I've ever seen. I think this is probably the 2020's version of blazing saddles.

It got a round of applause at the end if that's any indication.

10/10 from me.

Robocop

Was on TV, but still managed to be the unrated directors cut version with all the OTT gore. Time really hasn't softened it.

Great great film still for story/script/effects/everything.

That's good to know. Its getting good reviews and I've always been a bit of a Cage fan. Will be seeing it.

Have you ever seen the 'Get in the Cage' skits by SNL on youtube? They're generally good but this one is quite meta: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdA9_mtXYME

I enjoyed it for the daft "ride" that it is. It's on a par with the equally daft Independence Day which, coincidentally, I watched some of it again last night (it was on TV).

Kaspersky got their ads wedged in several times.

+1. Watched it tonight and it was loads of fun. Pedro Pascal was up for it too, I've only ever really seen/heard him in The Mandalorian smile .
