The Batman

Long, dark, mumbly. Not impressed, a bit of a slog.

I’m half way through Moonfall

Christ the amount of stupid “science” is doing my head in. What a load of bks. The whole space shuttle launch sequence nearly had me throwing the tv out of the window.
New Batman soo long. Sooo dull. Shame.

Liked the Batman, impressed they managed a fresh take on the story after all the previous versions.

I’m not going anywhere near Moonfall, even as a laughably bad brain out film. Emmerich needs to give the end of the world a rest.

Watched Free Guy this week and enjoyed muchly. It’s not going to win any awards but it’s a fun enjoyably predictable film with lots of pop culture references, a lot of Ryan Reynolds and the great Jodie Comer. Avoid if those things aren’t for you.

Truman Show meets Ready Player One.

At least some people on here appear to like the new batman movie I thought it was tremendously disappointing tbh. Too long and far too dull.

Venom: Let there be Garbage - some bits were enjoyable (it did strike me that Harry the Resident Alien has based his voice on Venom's) but...

On the Mark Wahlberg front I saw Father Stu last night

Jeeez a complete snooze-fest. Like I actually fell asleep to the annoyance of Sister D. I knew it had low rankings but didnt think it could be that bad - and it wasn't, it was just really boring and bad casting.

In the complete opposite of Nick Cage Unbearable Weight receiving applause at the end, a couple next to us left after an hour. I wish I had as well...

1/10 life is too short.

Glad I saw this at the cinema last night as it's a film that really benefits from the big screen experience..

I can see how it wouldn't be to everyone's taste, and certainly there was a small group in front of us at the cinema that I feel might have just seen the poster and assumed it was a 'generic' Viking film, as they looked a bit perplexed in parts..

But I'm a big fan of Eggers films The Witch and The Lighthouse, so this didn't disappoint in the slightest. Absolutely superb.
I saw this tonight after a recommendation from The Critocal Drinker. It was pretty good tbh if you are slightly into the viking stuff with some solid performances across the board.

Some how had couples either side narrating the whole way thru despite a stern stfu. (Which was warranted tbf)

7 out of 10 avengences.

Turns out my wife had not seen Speed so we rectified that last night. Such a great, streamlined, 'does what it says on the tin' movie. Still holds up well today except maybe the jump, which was cheesy even back then.

Keanu and Sandra... wonder what happened to those two smile

The ballad of Buster Scruggs

Coen brothers oddity, but engaging, even if uncomfortable viewing.

Nobody - very enjoyable action film, the plot is nothing you haven't seen a million times before but it's done well so you won't care. The action also has a slightly clumsy feel which I really appreciate as it's so rare in modern films, it feels like the characters really are beating seven shades out of eachother. When it feels like a character is in peril rather than just have God mode switched on, it is always more engaging.

Bob Odenkirk (better call Saul)

Really enjoyed this. Oh.. and his dad, the Doc from Back To The Future.

Actually it’s probably Taken. Remember Taken? And that one poster that really didn’t like it?

Those were the days…

Lol, watched it last night. It has all the right ingredients, Tom Hardy, Woody Harellson, Stephen Graham, Marvel etc, yet manages to be utter ste. A shame.

The Game

I saw this at the cinema when it first came out, just rewatched - jesus sean pean looks young!

Honestly think this was a great film and very underrated. Someone either here or on YT recommended and think this is better 2nd time round. Pretty incredible how it stands the test of time.

9/10 surprises

I watched it only because I like Bob Odenkirk. The opening 30minutes or so were promising but it descended into cliched , cartoonishly violent tosh and not even Mr O could save it .
