I wonder if there are two people in the UK that pay exactly the same amount as each other for their Sky package ?
Probably just those not bothering to negotiate and paying standard rate.

Re-negotiated TV and broadband, £11pm for Entertainment pack, Free unlimited broadband and £8.99 line rental. £19.99pm all in for 12 months. Good value I feel for a no frills type package.

Well i've just bailed after 8 years, prompted by yet another price rise letter.

40 minutes on Live Chat having my finger nails pulled out & hot pokers shoved in every orifice later, they offered me my current package at £20 per month (down from £45) as i'm a "valued customer". I refused.

I actually don't watch a lot of TV so i'm prepared to let it go but it will be interesting to see if i get any more offers from them.
40 minutes to get a 55% reduction doesn't seem like a bad result.

What were you hoping for?
Better than half price is probably about as good as you're going to get.
Seems decent enough after 40 minutes.

Do Sky still give 75% discounts these days?

I got that once and after I said yes I'll take it the guy said 'and we'll also give you free broadband for a year.'

Top selling.

I wasn't "hoping" for anything, I called to cancel as I rarely watch TV other than a couple of shows I can get via NowTV if I really want to. They dragged the whole process out and only threw in that offer when I made it clear I wanted out.

I also called Premier Sports to cancel which took less than 5 minutes with a polite offer of 50% off if I wanted to continue.

This is what pisses me off, and part of the reason I left TV - you pay less for TV and broadband than I currently do for Sky broadband alone, even having "negotiated" a bit of a discount (25%).

When I did cancel, I made it clear that if they offered me a decent deal, I would re-sign. Didn't hear a word from them. We now pay less than a tenner for Prime and get everything else via Chromecast and apps. Would consider a NowTV box for a few choice shows - GoT, Billions and to see if the All4 offering is better than the app, which for some reason, won't show me live TV on my phone (likely my ste phone - avoid a Sony Xperia hunk-o-crap).

If anyone is an IPSE member their Perkbox has some good offers. If you don't fancy the bother of cancelling and then signing up again you can at least use those to renegotiate a better deal.

I left sky a couple of months ago and have since moved address.

do I qualify as a new customer or am I best to go back to them on my old account.

I am not keen on an 18 month deal though?

I know there was someone on here who could get deals, anyone know their username?

You would be a new customer. 18 month deals with all Sky services. Except standard DSL Broadband

It's that time of year again. I was paying £71 for the below (plus movies and box sets), but with the deals expired it went up to £120.

I've been thinking about ditching Sky and/or trimming down the package (I now have no need for box sets or movies), so I thought I'd ring retentions to see what they'd offer. Here's what they've put on the table for me...

Full Sports pack - £15
HD Sports - £2
Fibre Unlimited - £10
Entertainment TV - £20
Kids TV- £1
HD TV - £1
Line Rental - £18.99
£67.99

Q/UHD (free 2TB box) would be an extra £12p/m.
Upgrading to Fibre Max would be an extra £5p/m

My 12 month contract for TV, Broadband and phone is up next month - we're on the full mashings HD, fibre optic the lot - I signed up for Sky Q at Christmas, will this affect my TV package or will I be able to cancel/remove movies/sports etc do we know? Not had chance to ring them yet.

Won't affect your package options, no.

apparently I am a current customer as I left within the last 12 months. anyway have rejoined at my new address for £36 for tv not broadband to include hd, hd sports, all sports channels kids and entertainments and all on sky Q. They have also done 12 months not 18, quite happy with that.

Just got £15/month taken off my Sky Fibre unlimited pro + line rental. Was £48.99 down to £33.99.

Not amazing but not too shabby. I expect if one doesn't mind peak time traffic shaping or having static IP address then Virgin represents a better value proposition.

Due to go up to £95 in sept - called and told that £78 was best discount so asked to be put through to cancellations . Got it down to £64 but said thats the best they can do so I said ok cancel it then . How long do offers take to come round if they want to keep you and is this phone call or email ?

I put my cancellation in a couple of weeks ago ready for the latest battle. With the return of the Prem being just a few days away I went at it over last weekend. It took a couple of chats but I finally came away with Entertainment, Sports and Cinema, all in HD for £35 per month. That’s a 12-month contract for the Entertainment and 31 days’ notice to scrap the Cinema and Sports (I tend to drop the Cinema just after Christmas and then the Sports go as soon as the Prem finishes).

I couldn’t get them to drop the new £10 “admin fee” they’ve started to add to new contracts though. I think if I had been prepared to walk away another couple of times I may have got it waived, but I’d spent long enough haggling with them at that point.

That looks pretty good but the last time they tried it install Sky Q they couldn’t due to thickness of the walls and the dish. Apparently Sky are moving towards the tv working through Broadband rather than a dish. Does anybody know if this is imminent?

My previous offer expired last month and my bill went back up to £51. I spoke to Sky today and ended up having to change my package. I was on the legacy HD package with Sky F1 channel but they flat refused to negotiate on that package at all, insisting that if I wanted to pay less I'd have to change the package. I ended up with the new Sky HD package, F1 channel, kids HD channel, Sky Go Extra (so I can get Sky on my Xbox!) for £37 a month on an 18 month contract. It's a saving, which is what I wanted but it annoys me that I couldn't get it any cheaper.

Certainly not this year, and if anything more likely in more than a year's time.

£32 for absolutely everything finally expires for us soon so have cancelled before it goes up to £80. Will sit it out for a few months and see if we can get it all back for under £35.
