Face like a cobblers thumb and so entitled/false (like the rest i suppose) looking for "Chelsea boy". I thik she would have been happier with the awkward but well spoken investment communications / banker chap.

As per most of the series across the world now, the people they get on it are minor 'influencers' who have either been approached by the production team or have been selected from the applicants because they have some kind of social presence (which is inevitably a guaranteed viewing audience). There are, for sure, some 'genuine' types on it to give it some credibility but clearly both Ella and the Chelsea Girl (Laura) are more interested getting followers than getting married. I feel like Laura is trying to act like she thinks the cast of Made In Chelsea behave based on watching the show, when in reality from my experience (of knowing 1 occasional cast member) is actually nothing like they are in reality....unsurprisingly. I do appreciate that Nathanial (Ellas 'husband') clearly isn't blameless in this as I don't think he's been honest so far about why his feelings changed on the honeymoon, but the acting up to the camera by Ella was pretty clear.

What is somewhat amusing is how so many of them all are clones of each other without even realising it. The lips, the hair, the contouring on the girls. The tattoos, the sculpted pecs and the open shirts for the guys! As usual there's a lot of judging, walls and emotional suppression. I feel quite a few are pretending to be someone they're not, so it'll be interesting to see how long it is until the masks slip.

An acquaintance of mine was on the show last year and he was handpicked by the producers alongside one of his friends. It was purely due to his look and physique. Apparently, he was also approached by Love Island but he chose MAFS because he saw more potential.

Sadly it hasn't worked out for him and he seems to be doing the least amount of "influencer" work from the group.

A few seasons ago it degenerated into the same format as love island, etc., populated by identikit caricaturish attention seekers who are just there for the TV time and I switched off. I tried an episode of the latest series but quickly gave up again.

Which one was he?

Odd decision re. MAFS over Love Island. I don't use FB/Inst etc. but I have seen Love Island people all over mainstream media and hardly ever a MAFS contestant.

Edit: different age ranges for contestants as well... the youngest MAFS would be the oldest Love Island!

Yeah, it's a different programme now. Happens to them all.

I guess the producers constantly try to dial up the drama and conflict to keep viewers interested but they always end up going too far and just setting up emotionally damaged and mentally unstable people to make good telly.

There always used to be some normal people who you could root for. Now, they're all influencer-wannabes and the fakery has gone from stratospheric to orbital.

We've given up on the Australian one too - basically, the contestants each year are just facsimiles of last year with drama level turned up.

Some of the pairings seem deliberately designed for this.

Posh boy with farmer girl, then Chelsea girl who loves posh boys paired with a tennis coach. Smacks of being setup for some 'cheating'.

As others have said, its really just gone down the dull same route as other reality tv and is stuffed with the usual wannabes.
I know you always have to take these type of programmes with a pinch of salt but even so.
