That was deeply satisfying to see a serial liar being brought to account. Well done the Jury for seeing through her, her lies and trying to destroy someone due to being batst mental.

His statement released now - quite restrained actually (obviously)

I'm sure the crowd wherever he's playing tonight will be informing him of the verdict while he's on stage.

Be nice good to watch.

That’s the limit of punitive damages (in Virginia), so she owes $10m for compensatory + $350k for punitive.

She owes him $10.35m, he owes her $2m. She needs to pay him $8.35m

Her net worth is $8m

Attorneys will make a fortune.
Well explained, thank you.

Hopefully JD does something honourable with the money. It’s not like he needs the cash anyway! hehe

Amber Heard has released a statement:

AH said:
“The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I'm heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband.

I’m even more disappointed with what this verdict means for other women. It is a setback. It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated. It sets back the idea that violence against women is to be taken seriously.

I believe Johnny’s attorneys succeeded in getting the jury to overlook the key issue of Freedom of Speech and ignore evidence that was so conclusive that we won in the UK.

I’m sad I lost this case. But I am sadder still that I seem to have lost a right I thought I had as an American – to speak freely and openly”.
She just left herself open to being prosecuted again. She has stupid lawers.

She still won't accept that she's an abuser, and this is finally a public win for abused men exposing what some women want hidden.

Vasquez crying after the result - she's clearly been hugely emotionally invested in this. She and the Depp team deserve every penny.
They were as good as the other lot were awful, it was a total mismatch.

I must admit I don’t know the laws in the US, but surely freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom of consequence from that speech?

(I assume that’s why she lost!)

And barely a flicker of emotion from AH (who suffers from anxiety/panic attacks due to this court action)

Of course there is nothing to stop her speaking openly, but it will be anything but freely if she's not very careful. Next time, better call Saul. Anyone has to be better than a refugee from Mad Men and a Pam Ayres looky-likey.

The first amendment does not mean you can speak untruths.
