Plus 1 I said that to the Mrs during the show, then had to explain it so wished I hadn’t bothered!

This is a good assumption. Hope you're right, it means the Corrie writers are smarter than we thought!

I must say, normally we know when someone is leaving the show, it's all over those tacky newspapers and broadcast in advance to increase biewing figures. There's been nothing to my knowledge about Gary. This could get interesting.

Wonder how Phelan's going to talk his way out of this one, regarding Andy's Birmingham address.

He's got until Wednesday night to think of something.

No doubt he will do so.

Thought I would post up some random quotes from Corrie viewers on The Sun website regarding the recent episodes.

Writers take note.

Jack and Vera Duckworth will be turning in their graves. God alone knows what Stan and Hilda Ogden would have made of all this, and good old Annie would have an empty pub as all these modern characters would be barred! There`s enough badness and evil going on in the world today, what`s wrong with a little escapism, a look into a world where nice things happen to good people?

Coronation street is going the same route as East Enders. It now believes its main purpose is to preach to what it sees as the lumpen masses rather than entertain. Viewing figures will drop further if it continues following this dreary path.

Soaps used to be a break from reality, a light hearted version of life with the odd sad storyline or death scene. Nowadays its which soap can shock us the most with a gruesome storyline especially around Christmas when no doubt Norris will take Spice before choking Rita to death in an orgy with Kevin Webster as the ghost of Hilda Ogden singing Wish Me Luck As You Wave Me Goodbye fades out in the background. It's no wonder figures are down it's so depressing.

Another over the top storyline there's more goes on in Coronation street than the uk as a whole it must be the most cursed street in the world ..

And THIS is entertainment, there are some VERY SICK ########### about. WHO WATCHES THIS RUBBISH.

I can remember when corrie used to be fun now its rubbish do we really need this story line

Sadly, my Corrie really now seems to have lost the plot. I've said it before, too much doom and gloom.

Corrie is NO longer ITV's flagship show, it is going down the Depressenders route with all these story lines. It maybe time to bring in new scriptwriter's before it is too late and it loses it viewing audience like Depressenders did.

What money on Gary turning up unannounced on Christmas Day to confront Phelan? Corrie's version of Dirty Den's "Allo Princess".

I think Phelan is going to get his comeuppance before too long, he has rode his luck too many times.

Why did he say he had heard from Andy? No reason at all to not just look look surprised that Andy had not gone to Bristol. And why did Luke have a bunch of letters to give Phelan? He just assumed Phelan had Andy's address? Very thin storyline to expose Phelan I guess.

Gary probably faking his own death, travels to weatherfield on a false passport, knocks Phelan off, then travels back to the Ukraine and says he has been there all along as he has been held hostage. Or turns up Christmas day and sorts Pat out.

He? Who?!
Is Luke in Andy's old flat? I think so. Luke was looking for somewhere to forward his mail to, maybe there is something important looking in there which you'd expect he would have needed.

No idea why Luke would go to Pat asking where Andy was as Andy and Pat hardly knew each other? Luke all suspicious like he seems to know that Pat has killed him.
Another weak plot.
