After a Danny Boyle discussion at work I watched this again for the first time in around 5 years.

Really great stuff which slightly decends into "Monster Of The Week" at the end. Still a stunning spectacle and hasn´t aged at all.

A solid 8/10
Aye, 'tis a good film that, and also agree that the monster bit towards the end feels out of place.

went to a special showing of Moon last night in Aberdeen,

I hadnt heard anything about it, other than it was great.

I was not disappointed.

Sam Rockwell is a massively underrated actor,

5/7 - up there with Tremors.
Good movie. Directed by David Bowie's son.

Watched London Boulevard last night. Not terrible, but just seemed to be a few separate stories rolled into one.

Tried to watch Under the Skin last night.

I didn't last very long. It was proper dark/surreal/abstract and I wasn't really in the mood. Only plus points were seeing Scarlett Johansson with not much on.

The bit on the beach really freaked me out.

Good film imo. The alien motorbikers are awesome tearing through Scotland in the wet.
Yes worth sticking it out - a surprisingly shocking ending.

The Big Short

Solid 7.5/8.2

Not working in the finance sector it did a good job of explaining the whole subprime mortgage meltdown well. Not sure how accurate it was, but kept me enthralled throughout.

I feel dirty.

I've just caught 10 mins of the chick Ghostbusters film...and I laughed. A lot.

I'm going to have to watch the whole thing. boxedin

I hated the idea when they announced it and I wanted to hate it.

Watched it and really enjoyed it. It's not really very different from the original with some great lines, great cameos and I didn't hate the cast. I think if you liked Bridesmaids then you'll like this, I'm also one of the few people happy to admit that I like Melissa McCarthy.

Didn't realise that Dan Aykroyd was one of the producers until after I watched it and I think that helps.

Nothing else on, we sat on the sofa in the kitchen and watched Deadpool, as eldest son had purchased it when back from Uni last month.

Painful. It lasted 15 minutes. Enjoyed no doubt by people who find jokes about farting funny.

Messaged him, he said it was ste too.

And I paid for the fker laugh

The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 2/10 - all of the charm of the original is missing. The characters' idiosyncracies are now annoying (Patel, Nighy), new actors are wafer thin, and there is no poignancy at all. Instead, you get a few set pieces - done in wannabe Bollywood style - in lieu of anything resembling authenticity.

People who have watched The Hunt.

Possible spoilers ahead...

How did you get past the bit where Greche (the woman who runs the school) tells Klara's mum about what happened?
She tells her in such a way that more than likely wouldn't be done usually that I guess will be the catalyst that creates what will happen to Lucas for the rest of the film.

I just feel annoyed that the film has been based on how this woman tells Klara's mum what happened and I just want to turn the film off, which would be a shame as it's 38 minutes into it.

It's been good so far!

All the ones from the old better Ghostbusters had some sort of producing credit.
One needs to read on how Sony strong-armed them all to force the awful remake into the direction it went. Bullying Ivan out out was nasty. It's poetic justice that it flopped horribly.

I bl00dy LOVED 'under the skin' - but only after I'd watched it all the way thru, read the reviews, then thought about it a bit. It really comes together at the end.

Funnily enough I went thru the same process with 'sicario' - originally I thought beautiful cinematography, amazing soundtrack, meh film. Then I read the reviews, went "OHHHHH", rewatched it and absolutely loved it.

On a completely different end of the movie spectrum, I watched 'the accountant' last night. Was actually alright as long as you watch it mindlessly trying not to see the plot holes. And don't let it bother you that they took the sofa cushion out so that she's the same height as him when they sit together. Would recommend for easy watching action flick. With some good deadpan humour.

Yeah I didn't want to give that away but lets be honest, it's hardly a spoiler wink

I really enjoyed The Hunt smile
Thanks to the people for reviewing it as I would have been stuck for a film for tonight.
