The Men Who Made Us Fat
Discussion
Sugar Vs Fat from Horizon this week.

There was also another show on last night, not sure of channel showing how crappy the fad diet industry is.
Showed some crazy diets that I was not even aware of. Like the booze diet.

Sounds interesting, but I'm off TV and low-fat.
Also currently reading The Great Cholesterol Con - thoroughly recommended. Even Ancel Keys has admitted fat -> cholesterol -> heart disease wasn't true and he was the grandfather of it. Still, it appears "prescribe statins, get swimming pool" won the day.
I have that book...or one very similar! Still not read it! But I started looking into that stuff after a discussion with my mum about my father and a possible high cholesterol level. Also currently reading The Great Cholesterol Con - thoroughly recommended. If I wanted Bolton to win, I'd change the playing field somehow. I'd do the same for obesity too, and the best way of doing that is almost certainly regulating the bigger food companies, who (unless those marketing budgets are for show) damn well know how to change the field themselves. I really don't care that much if Nestle has to lay off workers because fewer people are buying their brightly coloured crap. That crap (after a point) isn't making people's lives better and those workers would be better off making something that does.
I sometimes wonder if the families of the CEOs are fat, or what they look like. Do their kids have litres of visceral fat? Or are they wise to it and make sure their own kids don't overdose on sugary/fat st. I wonder if they all look like Eric Pickles.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
