All of it...

Their pay comes entirely from the marketing budget of various manufacturers who advertise on ITV, which means it is part of the cost of the product that you or I pay. I have no idea which products' advertising revenue is used to pay Ant n Dec so I cannot boycott them.

I don't really care about salaries and what people get paid, however I'm astounded Steve Wright is still up there.

BBC management will be more occupied by their "stars" reaction to this than by any public discussion. Number one nightmare from salary info becoming known is the recipients comparing themselves to each other and indignantly demanding parity or more. It's not a recipe for restraint. Believe me, I've been there....

BBC Worldwide brought in £222 million to the BBC in 2015/16 from sales of BBC programs, so it's not simply down to the licence-fee

They should have also published hours worked, as the hourly wage for some will be staggering.

Can't really see too much to get worked up about, BBC pay grades aren't exactly generous lower down the line

Surprised not to see Dimbleby on there
For the people defending the BEEB there is one perfect example of people's complaints in there. Gary Lineker is not £1.5m more talented than Mark Chapman, quite the opposite in fact.

The BBC should be focused on bringing new talent through from local radio / TV, not chasing down big presenters because some media luvvie wants to rub shoulders with the stars.

For balance, I think the actors are criminally under paid.

Firms do not only advertise on TV . Marketing budgets will be cross platform. On the other hand, if you do have the cheek to watch an ITV live broadcast you are forced by law to fund the BBC. Products advertised on any platform are only purchased by individual choice, not by force of law.

Scandalous salaries for the likes of Lineker and Shearer. Nothing against them, in fact I like Lineker's presenting style but i don't watch MOTD because of the presenters, I watch it to watch the highlights of the games. I couldn't give two fecks who presents it, if I've got it on catch up then I'll happily whizz through the endless guff talked between games anyway.
Wright, Evans etc., although on absolutely ridiculous wages, are actually listened to for who they are.

She should just stop in bed on a sickie. Fortunately I don't get up until 6.15 and don't put the radio on.
There is no one on Radio 2 now worth listening to except Paul Jones.
And Radio 1 7 3 just don't do it for me. R4 ok though now and again.

Perhaps in the name of equality we could sack all the men, employ women to fill the roles and save a few bob.

However, I fear it will become an agenda for womens rights activists to insist women are paid more.

For Central London -- one of the most expensive places on Earth, and West London, the richest place on Earth, where the BBC is located -- most of their salaries are actually not that high.

In a very fickle entertainment industry, where your income can drop to zero overnight on the whim of fashion or a stroppy producer, making under £500k is not really a very good salary.

Someone like Dr Who, Peter Capaldi, making ~£250k for one of the world's "big 3" sci-fi TV shows is a bit of an embarrassment. He probably doesn't make much more than Schmee150 and his niche YouTube / Insta channels.

Chris Evans runs the biggest one-man radio show in Europe and the 6th biggest in the world, for dozens of hours a week, so he has some justification for his ~£2m salary.

Gary Lineker does just a few hours on UK and Worldwide BBC, regurgitating mostly what can be found on the back page of The Sun, so he is very overpaid at ~£2m.

Watching live in this day and age is an individual choice, watch on catchup if you object strongly to the licence fee.

Sack Lineker and give all his work to the superior Manish Bhasin who doesn't even make the list, I don't think?

Doesn't really work like that in entertainment though.

1. They don't only work when broadcasting
2. It's their job so if you want someone to read the news for an hour a day, you need to pay them a full time salary for that. It'd be a bit ridiculous if they got paid by the hour, no?
