Anyone know if it's really like this in high-level government?

Being followed permanently by an armed vehicle, armed officer, taking you into your house, checking around etc?

Obviously, the sex bit might not be true.. But probably could be!
I live not far from John Major. Many years ago, when he was PM, my now ex and I went to pick up an Indian takeaway of a Tuesday night. He was there with his entourage doing the same. I couldn’t imagine popping out for a Korma and a Nan Bread and having the MIB shadowing me like that. Just get a home delivery FFS.

Have enjoyed the first two episodes. Keeled Hawes is a brilliant actress.
Not often I watch the episodes when they first air but I probably will tonight.

It is really good telly - however it just comes over as - it will end up with him going fruit loops over Afghanistan and blowing her away.

I quite enjoyed, even if the diversity card the programme makers played was a little strong.

Robb Stark servicing Mrs Durells was a little unbelievable. I was half expecting a Whitney Houston song to start playing.

Pretty much what I expected from line of duty creators.

Low of accuracy and painful to watch from a professional point of view.
I thought programs like this have advisors (retired I imagine so the latest things don’t get revealed) but even to the layman it looks sloppy.
You’d think so wouldn’t you.

Likely drama is more important than realism.

Line of duty was watchable but infuriating to the point of comically bad at times.
The trouble is real life is boring and doesn't make good T.V.

Still think it's set up to examine the question of is your greatest threat also your protector. Several threats being lined up, the Met Police Counter Terrorism Commander, or the Minister of State for CT, ex husband Chief Whip, the Chief secret squirrel D-G of 5, or her PPO Robb Stark, or what about the useless PA who got fired, she's got some money and backing from somewhere?

Clearly they're going to have leverage lined up due to bugging the salami hiding sessions. So obvious setting up adjoining rooms.

No chat? So we never actually saw what was in the case, although that doesn’t mean it was a bomb does it..

What was in the case? Hopefully not a picture of his family next to an explosive device or something simple like that.
Good trick though, hooking people until next week for a reveal versus what you might think happened.

On the lighter side I'm wondering if Dave has been trying to see how close he can get away with Ma-am sounding like mum without a retake.

I think we are in for many more twists (especially coming from the Line of Duty writers)

Budd also seemed to have had a haircut between the bombing and his next scene. Barbers in the hospital perhaps?

It is pretty good Sunday TV after all of the costume drama parp. I'm no sure where it going to go on but I can see him holed up somewhere with her where nobody knows where they are whether a kidnap or to protect her.

Here's something to spice it up further.

Imagine this is set after the next GE, Corbyn has won and this Home Secretary is modelled on Diane Abbott.

Think about the booty scenes with that in mind.

hehe

Rather not, if you don't mind.

We couldn't find anywhere listed bulging.moist.gusset but certainly that could apply in your, and TechieDave's, fevered imaginations.

Favourite line of the week, from Kim the female P.O., "It's the eggs that are getting on my tits." Delivered dead pan with egg yolk all over the front of her blouse. hehe

Hope she survived, liked her character.

Cannot see it mentioned but the oily aide that obviously has/had a problem with the Asian aide (jumping in front of him to proffer info etc), gibbed out of the speech but handed the silver suitcase to the Asian aide and said that he wasn't up for it? Remember? He's the bomber. Pro-Israel I'm suggesting but wouldn't want to appear anti-Israel in my suggestion (see below). He set up the Asian guy with the fooooked up notes for the speech who stood in the wings trying to catch HSILF attention then BOOM!!!!

I'd suggest a timed device in line with the speech schedule which is why when Budd asked him to show him what was in the suitcase it just looked like papers. The device was hidden. No visible wires etc.

Budd, even though suspicious of the wrong person, ie, the patsy, was right. Something was wrong.

However, I'd be surprised if the BBC would take an anti-Israel theme in any drama, however appropriate it would be to take that stance (IMHO).

Pound to a pinch of sh!t that I'm almost right. What I don't understand is why he didn't tell the two SO15 officers that he knew the sniper? Unless of course (we've been told he was smart enough to be a doctor) he's sussed out the conspiracy already.

Now they know the sniper's id, it's going to be awkward for the PPO when the CCTV shows that they were meeting and having a beer in the days before the attack. If he thinks that's not going to come out and can be covered up then he's pretty stupid.

Thought the first 15 mins of episode 1 were really well done.

Pretty tense.

I thought it was silly in places, unprofessional and highly unlikely but it's not real life so I can let most of it go.

A few thoughts occured. Where did his mate get the sniper rifle? They are not exactly easily available, was it supplied to him by someone and is that someone therefore also suppressing info. You'd think with that excellent photfit one of his group would have said I know him. Plus others and with a military career his records will be available.

Why did they start running at the end? what did they see. I'm assuming no bomb in the case?

Is his Mrs involved/a leak/ someone was with her is the safe house?

Just caught up with this, proceedurally dubious, but still a pretty good watch, actually one of the better things on at the minute smile
