Minor issue, but Russell looks fine without the head gear on, but for whatever reason he looks terrible with it on, it looks worryingly close to a cheap Avengers knock-off at the moment. Maybe that's exactly the plan though...I've no idea if they are planning to broadly follow the comics or not.

Yes good episode almost felt like watching a mini film.
Think this is going to pan out like the duo realise the flag smashers are the good guys and team up with them to take out the power broker.
Captain America 2.0 will end up battling them also and Sam will take the shield from him.
Cap might also get injected with the super serum and turn into a villain.

If this follows Wandavision in being an origin story, maybe Sam will also get the serum so he can take down John Walker and retrieve the shield. Think this is going to pan out like the duo realise the flag smashers are the good guys and team up with them to take out the power broker.

At this point are we to believe John Walker has as has not taken the serum? I’m going with not.
I agree. Surely one punch from a super soldier and a ‘normal’ guy would be dead. Let alone flying into that car windscreen on the motorway.

Or is that too "Homelander"?
My question would be why is John Walker going round interrogating people in a stretchy outfit on behalf of the Govt when "Iron Patriot" exists. What's Rhodey doing? Surely that's the best bet for a Captain America given the suit..
Bar scene in this one again showing why Bucky makes a better bad guy also.

I think there will be a downside to the newer serum that effectively sends people bonkers. That explains why the woman was happy to kill people in the building. I could see John Walkers pal, Battlestar, being killed perhaps as result of his not being ‘strong’ enough to save him. He will take the serum it’s only a matter of time.
Sam won’t.
It’s all comics derived but effectively it’s a performance enhancer and I don’t see Disney advocating it without showing the downside.
Interesting how they got an explanation in ad to why the persons physique doesn’t change post serum as well.

I think it’s inevitable that the end of this arc will result in Sam being Captain America. This was clearly set up at the end of the last film, and I don’t think they’d change this through events that happened “off screen” and unseen by anyone who wasn’t watching on Disney+.
My prediction is they’ll bring it full circle, and people who just watch the films and don’t pay for Disney will just see Sam being Captain America in the next one, as expected - probably just starting out in the role. Those who have Disney+ will have some more background to how this happened, with his angst about giving the shield away and then things going wrong that result in him reclaiming it.
I wouldn’t want to guess whether his reclaiming it will be “official”, or off book and not recognised by the powers that be. Either would work with the ending of the film, and you could imagine part of the next film he’s in being him proving that he’s “fit” for the role of Captain America to the US government by performing some heroic actions, and then being officially recognised as the new Captain America.

I think Rhodey is probably retired between losing the use of his legs and Tony’s death. Bar scene in this one again showing why Bucky makes a better bad guy also.
