Episode 3 was much better than the previous episodes.

I'm still not quite convinced, but it is interesting.

I would say after Episode 3 each episode is better than the previous one.

I know they got some stick for car continuity but I liked that they used armoured cars (thickened windows, etc)

Were they actually bullet proof glass or just stickered up to look like it? Been a long time since i was in one (mid 80's bullet proof cortina) we had to pull over in the middle of belfast city centre and open the doors to have a smoke, got some wierd looks.

Fake looking to me. It would be quite some weight for the Octavia to push around also.

Carbines in the boot, just placed in a bag also??

Just had a look on the iplayer and episode 2 Gerry is smoking in his patrol car with the window down so I assume they are replicas.

I really enjoyed this show. The characters grew on me, and the relationships between the probationers and their partners were nicely developed - Grace and Stevie in particular. I even sympathised, a little bit, with the bad guys, especially James.

I don't really care about the minor continuity issues and suchlike; it's not a documentary. As a piece of drama I thought it was excellent.

Am I weird to like the Golf the lead bad guy's son uses?

And there was me thinking for some reason that last week’s episode was the last. A much more complete finish tonight, unsurprisingly wink

Well, after a slightly shaky first couple of episodes, Blue Lights turned out to be very good indeed, with about the right degree of moral ambiguity.

The characters and the acting were very good.

A superior series from the BBC.

I just finished this, I thought the episodes got better as the series progressed.

However 5 minutes into the first episode, Grace is a new copper and she is allowed to pull the big rifle out the boot and ready to start using it. Surely newbies can't use it as a new copper?

I did wonder that, but some of the newbies had been in the Police for two years?

I was concerned that they drove into a cul de sac and parked facing the end of it too.

Grumps.

Didn't realise there was a thread on this, but we quite enjoyed it, and took it as a drama, not a documentary as many here seem to.

PSNI trainees do weapons training before they are released out into the wild, they are also given a personal protection weapon before they have passed out. When my niece was in training a couple of the trainees took their gun to a house party and while showing off with it, it went off. They would probably have got away with a bking if, when they phoned in to report it, they had hung up properly and not been recorded discussing what lies they were going to tell to try to explain what happened.
