I enjoyed this week's - it was a rather fun nostalgic trip, the head tilt was a little too contrived, but a nice touch... It was an enjoyable little trip - you can feel the story arc building to something hopefully big and good smile

Yeah, OK, to be fair, that felt like Star Trek. I enjoyed that.

I did enjoy this week's episode...

I hope Riker makes another appearance.

Brilliant episode, nostalgia so thick you had to bat it away. It's getting into it's stride now and just gets better and better for me.

The preview of coming episodes also makes it look like it's building very nicely too.

Much better this week. Bit worried they'll rotate Riker out as fast as 7 though.

I really like the story arc with Riker and Troi, the fact they are living ‘off grid’ (but still have shields and sensors to protect them if needed).

I looked up Kestra as the name sounded familiar, she was Deanna’s sister who died when they were kids, subject to a TNG episode where Troi’s mother was suppressing the memory of her death.

It’s certain they will. The series is called “Picard”, after all, and not “Miscellaneous Former Cast Members”.

They (Data, Troi, Riker, Seven) are all doing extended cameos.

In spoilers for those who don't watch the trailers for next weeks show.

Seven is definitely coming back and something exciting is going to happen with the cube.

Strong hints that was always on the cards tbh so not really surprised by both developments.

Despite my earlier comments, I actually quite liked last night's episode. It was good to see Picard being put in his place by Riker. Kestra was cool. A well-adjusted kid. Which is to be expected given her parents...

It's just a real shame that it seems to be a series of one-episode guest slots for the old crew.

I did enjoy yesterday's epi - but I'll have to disagree on the kid whom I found to be annoying in a Wesley Crusher sort of way

Have to say I got a wee bit emotional watching Picard and Riker. It’s the warm, tender interaction we all wanted to see between them in TNG but never could due to rank.

Troi looked bizarre though.

I’ve been enjoying this. I’m not a huge Star Trek bod though so probably don’t have the same expectations as other people.

Not as bizarre as Beverly would look if she returned - she's had so much work done she looks quite odd.

Always expected a return, but is anybody else concerned about the direction they might take the character of Seven? Some very blatant imagery used in the final glimpse we get in the flashes during the end credits. It could possibly go any number of ways but that image was very deliberate.

Aside from the reference to 'Gigabytes' (rookie mistake and banned by all the writers back in the eighties), JL referring to Riker as 'Commander' and ripping off large chunks of 'The Empire Strikes Back'

that was vastly better and actually felt like Star Trek.

The pacing was much better and the reunion with the Riker's was spot on.

Smiler.

She was on Loose Ends (R4) a while back. She's a proper Cockney.

She's 64/65. Her husband died at Christmas. I have no idea if it was a sudden death or long term illness, but if it was the latter those scenes were filmed in August, and going through what she had explains her looking a bit worse for wear.
