I really liked the Tribute and for that money I would rather drive that than an equivalently priced Euro Box/SUV/EV
If it's usable as a daily, then it starts to make a lot of sense.
Its just a Z3 so no reason why it shouldn't.

Its better looking than a Z3 as well.......once you remove all the Ferrari badges and emblems though.

As long as it's built properly, everything works, doesn't leak, wind-noise and NVH are acceptable.

They're yet to receive the PH seal of (dis)approval.

I don't get them at all. Not my cup of tea. Understand why some would though. Like buying fake Ugg boots from Primark I suppose.

I'd rather have a well sorted NB MX5 than that 'homage'.

That's patently not true.

Quite.
I bet if you parked that red Tribute that was on B&C, in a street, festooned as it is with Ferrari badges, over 75% (if not higher) of people walking past would think it was a real one....only car nerds would spot it wasn't a real one. The percentage would be lower of course if it was started up for the public, as even the car-uneducated would likely then realise that something was not right laugh

Way higher I reckon.
Most of the public don't know anything about cars.
Even if it was started up and revved they wouldn't be none the wiser They'd go off the badges

The z3 based ones are, to my eyes, really pretty and look very well done. The Mazda based ones are not nearly so well resolved. Ironically, the 507 tribute based on the z3 doesn't look nearly as good as the Ferrari!!

Isn't that an mx5 one, and comparing it to a GTO? The Z3 is an homage to the 250 swb and looks much better than the clown car you show....for me the original 250swb is much prettier than the somewhat caricatured GTO also, but I am a little strange.....

I must be strange as well, as I also much prefer the 250SWB to the GTO.

I don't think anyone's suggested the GTO is prettier, have they?

The vast majority have never seen an original and therefore have nothing to compare it against.
The red Mathewsons one would fool most people....most people aren't on car forums and have little interest in cars other than driving from A to B

I’d seen a silver ‘Ferrari’ at a couple of car meets, it’s only when I looked it up I realised it wasn’t actually a Ferrari, and having just looked again it is indeed a Z3 Tribute albeit with a 3.0 engine. It’s very convincing, even to my eye and I’m into cars but will acknowledge I’m no Ferrari expert.

Each to their own really, to me it’s similar to the Cobras that aren’t really Cobras, or a GT40 that isn’t a GT40 - nice but it’s not for me. If the owner has enjoyed doing the conversion, enjoys driving around in it pretending it is what it isn’t, or desperately wants the car but will never be able to afford an original then crack on.

Don’t see the point in post after post going on about how it’s so awful, wrong etc., it’s a free world, do whatever makes you happy.

Nope, I was just expressing an opinion.

I did too, it looked really well done and the dash was lovely.

The only disappointment for me was that it was based on the 1.9 engine.
