It was a good film, but possibly the worst offender I've seen in a while for bullets throwing people around like they were hit by a wrecking ball..... from the shotgun and rifle anyway...
Surely if you absorbed enough energy from a bullet to actually be flung through the air, the bullet wouldn't actually go through you and you'd have very nasty bruise......
maybe a question for the airplane on a conveyor belt crowd
You’d also fly back the same when you shot it.Surely if you absorbed enough energy from a bullet to actually be flung through the air, the bullet wouldn't actually go through you and you'd have very nasty bruise......

You ain’t getting up again when those big old projectiles hit you but you are not going to fly through the air like that.
Shame it almost spoils the whole movie it’s so dumb.

You might move backwards as a result of your death throes but, as others have already said, a bullet is not able to impart anywhere near enough kinetic energy to cause someone to fly backwards.
You'll be saying next that when spaceships explode there isn't a very loud bang I did a few Long Haul recently, so here goes.
The Dead Don't Die - Good idea, good cast, poorly exectuted. I think it was the script especially when the cast started referencing it. Held my attention buty only to see if it would get better or anything would be explained. It wasn't 5/10
The Kid Who Would be King - loved this, proper family adventure film. good script, good acting, genuine feeling of peril, well executed effects. 8.5/10
Yesterday - Typical Richard Curtis. Entertaining but forgetable. 7/10
Alita - Great FX, didn't really make a lot of sense but I enjoyed it. 7/10
John Wick 3 - More shooty death with added dogs. The same again but moreso and to be honest it got a bit repetative. 7/10
Detective Pikachu - probably better if you have a grounding in Pokemon. Liked the leads apart from the girl who was rubbish. FX looked good, didn't quite finish it.

Very few classic films will stand up to a critique by today’s standards. I watched the deer hunter for the first time last week, and found it so so. But by the standards of the time it was a true classic.
The Shining is a great film though if you remove any expectations first and Jack is the man. One flew over the cuckoo’s nest is another favourite.

It’s not a today’s standards thing. I much prefer most old films to most modern films.
The spent time on character development and typically had better stories that made sense.
The deer hunter and the shining just happen to be two that for me are over rated.
I’ll add to that mean streets and taxi driver.
They aren't bad in fact they are pretty good.
But the hype is too much.
Where as imo clockwork orange is a masterpiece so it’s all subjective. As is casino and goodfellas etc.

A Clockwork Orange is an odd one. The fight and assault scenes are so painfully choreographed and acted as to be laughable by today's standards, and certainly don't look in any way convincing and (dare I say it) are rather amateur, although otherwise it holds up very well.Robocop (1987 Original) on Netflix
Was actually looking around for T2 to watch again due to all the talk on hear about it, wanted to refresh my memory. Found T1 and Genysis and didn't fancy either so I plumped for this. Have to say I still really enjoyed it and the effects don't age too badly and were really cutting edge at the time. I love the Paul Verhoeven style as well with the newscasters and the funny TV - "I'd buy that for a dollar".
Also features one of my favourite quotes - "bhes leave..." So simple, yet so effective!

Love Train to Busan, rather fresh for a zombie film, and I was pleased that that could be done in that genre, I do love zom films though
I did watch a bit of the 2016 ghostbusters, and it isn't as bad as I thought on first watching, it's not good, or close to it, but I could see how some bits if altered would be rather ok.
