I, Tonya
On Amazon, a sort of biopic, comedy drama about US figure skater Tonya Harding and the "incident" with Nancy Kerrigan in the build up to the 1994 winter Olympics.
Interesting, funny, informative and a great watch.
5.9/6
Agreed - the guy who kept saying he was working as a spy - had me in stitches! On Amazon, a sort of biopic, comedy drama about US figure skater Tonya Harding and the "incident" with Nancy Kerrigan in the build up to the 1994 winter Olympics.

Cargo – Another pandemic zombie film, this time set in the Australian outback with Martin Freeman. All too predictable. 6/10
Spider-man into the Spider-verse – Back in animation form, Spider-man is dead, universes are colliding and a new hero is required. Highly imaginative and entertaining with some great artwork. 8/10
The Meg – Prehistoric shark attacks from the bottom of the ocean. Jason Statham saves the day. 6/10

Joker...
Knew it was going to be good but wasn’t quite prepared for the greatest acting performance I’ve ever witnessed.....INCREDIBLE!
AND......a bit of Gary Glitter too!

9/10 from me.
Blood Simple (1984)
DVD
Texas, early 1980’s; bar owner employs a PI to follow his want-away wife; unsurprisingly things quickly take a turn for the worse.
First Cohen Brothers film, still excellent – particularly the cinematography & score. Very dark but with some humour. Usual themes with their noir and lots of future tells.
PI (M. Emmet Walsh) chap reminded me a bit of the loon from No Country For Old Men.

Green Book - Not much I can add that hasn't already been said. Great film, entirely worthy of it's accolades 9/10

9 Steinways out of 10 pianos from me

The Revenant - on a technical level, absolutely stunning and a remarkable bit of film-making. But on a human and story telling level, it just left me a bit cold (no pun intended). Reminded me very much of Gravity in that I could appreciate what they had made, but was left feeling not sure what I'm supposed to take from it.

Finally got around to watching Godzilla: King of the Monsters on Monday having missed it at the cinema.
Remove brain, open beer, eat crisps, relax. A proper brain-out film with (after the "first" one) almost too many monsters! Some of the ideas were good, some of the scenes were ludicrous, but it was highly entertaining.
3 Rodan heads out of 4
This is on my list - i love any / all Godzilla movies - well except that Ferris Buller one.Remove brain, open beer, eat crisps, relax. Have just watched this newest film.
Utterly terrible. The most cliched film I think I have ever had the misfortune to tolerate .
All they needed to add was ' I'll be back' and ' You're going to need a bigger boat' !
Sound effects that didn't match the vehicles and timelines that didn't work.
I ended up filleting some whiting whilst it was on in the background !
