Films I watched this week (Vol 2)
Discussion
Watched T2 the other night as a prelude for the new "T3"
Saw "T3" at the cinema, was as silly as expected, but not terrible - 7/10 for entertainment
Two LoL moments for me amidst the action

- The terminator is a curtain salesman and interior decorator ...
- Sarah Connor looks like Hilary Clinton

Thought for a second there was a new Trainspotting sequel. Very much enjoyed T2 - Trainspotting Saw "T3" at the cinema, was as silly as expected, but not terrible - 7/10 for entertainment

Haven't watched any of the new Terminators. The original is on Netflix now though. Might have to give that watch.

Yes, but how does that change what I said about it?Centurion07 said:

Just as an aside, but is any non-documentary film a true story? Not "based on" a true story, but an actual true story.Even Apollo 13, which went to great lengths to be historically accurate, allowed itself some artistic licence.
(Not saying this to be argumentative, btw, or even commenting on the film you were discussing).
Not a lot on that appeals this weekend, so I slipped into Sean the Sheep: Farmageddon now all the kids have seen it. I am glad I did: the visual gags, the slapstick humour, and the Sci-Fi references never stop. I don't think I've laughed, or at least chuckled, all the way through a whole film for a long time. 8/10.

The Driver with Ryan O'Neill on now.

Just watched, Beautiful Boy.
Shows the impact not just on the addict, but the wider picture of the effects addiction can have on the family, friends, etc. I thought it was pretty powerful and pretty well done on the whole. Maybe should have been a bit darker in places with the actual drug use.
8/10

I mean it's probably a thought provoking film worthy of praise. But I'm sorry, the characters make so many beyond idiotic decisions that I just can't enjoy it. Dumb decisions are a given in most movies else it'd be over in 10 minutes. But this film takes it beyond suspension of disbelief.

The Perfect Host
A nice little black comedy/mini thriller.
Guy pulls a bank job, becomes injured, loses wallet et cetera and comes across the charming Niles at his house. The fun begins from there.
The main character is played by David Hyde Pierce, a.k.a. Niles in the sitcom/series Frasier.
A very likeable film specifically made to be lightweight and entertaining and that it is.
This is Niles as you've never seen him before!
7.2 glasses of Merlot/10 party guests.

The Good Liar
Helen Mirren is a widow being conned out of her money by Ian McKellen.
Not the gentle Sunday on ITV at 9pm film you think it might be and a surprisingly 'nasty' film in places.
The denouement isn't particularly a surprise and there are a few leaps of faith to get there, but as you would expect the film is well delivered.
