Sirtis was born in Hackney and raised in Haringey - she's also a Spurs supporter apparently.

I had seriously gone off the last few episodes, Maddox bumped off as soon as he was found being the latest "FFS" moment for me. But I binged the latest 2 episodes today and enjoyed both far more than all but the first one (still the best one, for me). I thought the Rikers' guest appearance would be cheesy but actually, it was handled really well and its a shame they only get 1 episode. And Hugh was underused really - he really could have been anyone.

Hoping they keep the good stuff going. Letting the silly scientist bump herself off would be a good move.

Yep the scientist is annoying me now, either bump her off or change her story. I like the other members of the dysfunctional crew but her character is just boring.

A bit obvious too - it was signposted from early on she'd been got at to act as a saboteur, so there's no mystery or suspense involved. And if she wanted to kill herself, why not just get a weapon and shoot herself...

Enjoyed that one, have to say seeing Riker and Picard together gave a warm fuzzy feeling smile

Felt like there was some progression with this episode, looking forward to the next biggrin

She didn’t try to kill herself, she purposely put herself in a coma so the tracker would stop working.

Even if intentionally putting yourself in a coma were possible (seems very precise to me), there must be less unpleasant ways of doing it. I got the impression the medic hologram rescued her and hence she wasn’t yet dead and free to recover and continue her mission (I got the impression she was seriously regretting being there and didn’t want to go through with it).

So why didn't she just say "I'm putting myself in a coma because" or just fess up - The latter has been done to death in films and TV programs and is almost always forgiven...

As every emergency hologram is a replica of the captain, will it turn out the he is actually an Emergency Captain Hologram?

That’s the thing in tv land...interrupted people never then insist on saying the plot revealing thing they were stopped from saying, however mild and short the interruption...

Yep annoying TV trope 101.

I have this very very important thing to tell you.

Have you tried the replicator ice cream?

No

What were you going to say before?

Never mind, it's not important.

She's annoying so I hope she comes clean or gets killed. The nervous wreck act is annoying.

Did I say she was annoying?

I thought she used a dose of something to stop the tracker working, a side effect of which was it would put her in a coma (or possibly kill her), as opposed to the being in a coma which interferes with the tracker.

N

Could be that too. Assuming she knew exactly what that tracker thing was (she didn’t know she had to crunch it). Who knows?

Why couldn't they see that they were being tracked - it'll put out a signal, somewhere - subspace or wherever...

I sort of had hoped that they were collecting previous characters - getting the band back together sort of thing - but Seven seems to have left the story, the story has left Riker and Troi, and they killed off Hugh. It seems so wasteful.

And yes, it's very slow.

Turgid.
Forget monster of the week this is hero of the week, without any actual heroing most of the time.
