Chris Harris Podcast (Collecting Cars)
Discussion
I guess there's also the issue of content.
How much can four blokes reminisce and ponder on when it comes to cars?
There's the F1 discussion, which is current, but the rest is predominantly "what was the best hubcap" / "who makes the best seats" / "what is the best driving road"
There's only a finite amount of stuff one can do with that format I suppose.

Rubbish - I've been doing it with my mates for about 25 years and we're nowhere near exhausted! How much can four blokes reminisce and ponder on when it comes to cars?

I really hope they come back soon. They were a key part of me winding down from work on a Friday.
I tried the Intercooler last week.. enough said on Frankel.. I just cannot listen to people like that.

Surprised at some of the comments on The Intercooler, it's the best of the 3 mentioned when it comes to actual car topics.
It's OK, but as others said, 1 person on it just comes across as an awful bore on the microphone. I much prefer Driven. I actually like the people on that.

I’m a latecomer to Smiff and Sniff, such a great podcast
Me too, I'm listening to the latest ones and from the start, at some point I'll meet in the middle .I remember going through a pretty tough time of things when someone mentioned Smith and Sniff for the first time, and the rant about Thomas the Tank Engine and Postman pat had me in tears multiple times

It hasn't stopped. Chris Harris is away with Paddy McGuiness filming their new road trip show for the BBC. I'll bet money as soon as Harris has finished filming the podcast is back.
I spoke to Ed at Bicester on Sunday and he said the podcast will be back in some form ! I said you guys haven’t fallen out have you ? And all he said was, life is complicated !!

The Intercooler. The foghorn of faux pomposity himself, just speaks over guests and Dan. Excruciating levels of dull anecdotes and braying self importance combined with a cosmic level of lack of self awareness.
YES!If you look at their Instagram content its all the same. Just loads of stories about themselves and things they've done.
It's just rubbish, and I cant expect many people actually PAY for their output!
This is the problem of all car podcasts when you base it in "people talking about themselves" Eventually you run out of material. All these pods are only as good as their guests. And even then, they need invariably to be longer. Most limit themselves to an hour at most. Compare to non car related pods on YT (Lex Friedman et al) and they are 2-4 hours at times! Great to listen to over a few commutes as you get a far better understanding of the person or the subject. Imagine a 3 hour interview with Sir Ron Dennis
RE the comment above about F1. Totally agree. And I haven't missed a race in 30years! But its not interesting to listen to when its not a driver or team principal.

Glad to see Harris has picked up a proper gig. I felt genuinely sorry for him that he had finally started getting paid a decent amount only for its abrupt end and a period when the Quentin Wilson path last pled to be beckoning. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cxrr47k2l6ro
Sounds like it'll be the standard North v South, public v state sort of thing the BBC is genuinely good at and without the suspicion of malevolence that Coogan brings with him.
