I found it best to watch with all lights off and 5.1 sound cranked up...
You should hear the Dolby Atmos mix of it. Especially the spinning around parts, and when the camera moves to go inside Sandra Bullock's suit/head. It really does gain a whole extra dimension. Way more of an experience than you'd expect a few targetted sound effects to make. Easy to see why it won two sound oscars.944fan said:

I thought it was total rubbish
Glad I am not the only one. Watched it on Sky BO the other night. Was thoroughly underwhelmed. The visuals were very good but the story and the characters were awful. Even GC who I usually like was terrible. Want the £5.50 I paid to rent it back.
Still wouldn't have made up for the awful acting and plot though.
Yes I guess it is one you probably have to see at the cinema, but it would still be boring.
Saw this for the first time on Sky Movies last night.
I can imagine all those bits flying around were pretty awesome in 3D - wish I'd gone to see it now!
Anyway, in 2D is was an enjoyable enough film - the 5.1 got a good workout which was cool. I don't think my rear speakers have ever worked so hard
