Enjoyed tonight's shows, good fun. Jessica didn't scrub up too well on YF, expected her to look stunning. Claude came across as a love sick puppy
Final on Sunday!
She's trying to maximise her opportunity. As such, she has paid others to leave nothing untouched (hair ruined, dress ridiculous).Final on Sunday!

I have a feeling that Alana will interview very well and end up in the final two with Courtney. She'll then go on to win it.
Just my thoughts. I reckon she's been playing quite a clever game.
Alana seems to be the only one that talks much sense, trouble is up until now she's sat in the background a bit and not always spoken up or made her voice heard.Just my thoughts. I reckon she's been playing quite a clever game.
If his interview skills are anything like his presentation skills I can't see how Courtney will make it to the final 2, have we been watching the same programme? Not really sure how he's won so many tasks, I can't remember when he's made any significant contribution.

How the fk has Courtney made it to the final?
Absolutely fk knows. Quality TV last night though, just love the interviews and those ones were never going to disappoint.I think Sugar has seen something in Courtney's business plan that he saw in himself many years ago, that's the only reason the 'lad' (29???) is still in it. Although designing just 33 products in 3 years seems pretty poor to me, I get the idea of that sort of stuff, it just needs to be fast moving with a quick turnover and onto the next, something that Sugar can certainly identify with.
Anyone who ever watches Dragons Den will know the answer, when being questioned about why you have a big pile of cash that you aren't investing, is not to say you want to buy a house with it. You will be grilled to death about why someone else should be risking their money then, I think Alana got off quite lightly on that one.
Jessica was just bonkers and her business plan was never going to get approved. Sure, lets just give 'internet celebs' £10k per month. And was she also going to make the clothes ? but had no idea of how many staff were needed ? Fabulous Frocks (?) was apparently a resounding success until people started returning stuff, then the cash just dwindled
Francis's business plan was also never going to work. Her stock relies on end of line stuff and anything she can get her hands on by the looks of it. The two shops closed for being unprofitable (call it what you want, 'experimental' etc) doesn't bode well for future expansion plans.
I liked Grainne, I think if she'd been London based it may have been a little different. I thought Sugar might have toned down her various plans and come up with something a bit more tangible.
The winner ? fk knows.
An excellent episode though as I said earlier.
Jessicas idea was sound - but anyone can do it, the trick is making the clothes on trend and fast rather than paying a reality zombie to be your brand ambassador. You need Leicester connections for supply and a bit of wad to catch your first reality person before they get too famous and expensive.

Grianne on the other hand... Her mum was also verging on gilf territory.
Mother and daughter combo? But seriously, the last two I expected to get through, Courteny could bore for England and Alana's idea is to up scale home baking and the whole point of home baking being better is because it's small scale.
As soon as you get bigger you'll just end up turning out carp like Mr Kiplling etc.
Plus 99% of the time she had a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp.

I wonder if Alana will be pushed in the final boardroom to put her savings in, could tip it in her favour if she does? Agree she got off lightly with that last night.
Anyone else think Claude took it easy(ish) on both Courtney and Alana? Didn't rip into them as much as the others.
They were making such a big deal out of Alana not pumping her savings into her business.
So, let's get this straight. She's running a business which made a profit of £37k last year. It's ticking along nicely, £37k profit is an exceptionally good margin.
She's putting the profit into saving up for a house. She's working hard, making money, and planning to buy herself a nice place to live, so she can enjoy her life.
Nope? She should invest that into her business. Business first, house/standard of living second.
Erm, I'd do exactly the same thing as her. £37k profit shows a business that you could, quite easily, keep going for years and years to come. Meanwhile she can buy a nice house in the countryside, enjoy all the things she enjoys etc.
Why is that wrong?! If her business was dying on its arse, and NEEDED the investment, and she was reluctant to put her own money in, then fine, I could understand Sugar's hesitance. But it's thriving, and she wants a nice home to go home to when she's clocks out from making cakes all day.
I really can't see why they all struggled to deal with that. Makes perfect commonsense to me. Get the house sorted, then continue building the business. Otherwise, you're living in your parent's spare bedroom making shot glasses for toddlers.
'Lord Sugar dispenser'. Brilliant!

Because the guys like Alan Sugar, Peter Jones, Richard Branson etc (going off tangent here) didn't get where they are today (now moving onto Reggie Perrin) by being content with a £37k profit and a 'nice house in the countryside'. They expect the same level of commitment that they are showing, I think I'd feel the same if I was stumping up £250k of my own money as well, whether he can afford it or not it's still £250k of his own money. So, let's get this straight. She's running a business which made a profit of £37k last year. It's ticking along nicely, £37k profit is an exceptionally good margin.

If she is ambitious and believes in her plan as much as she says she does then yes, I'd expect her to be ploughing every spare penny she has back into the business and growing it in the way her business plan says it can grow.
If she is quite happy with her £37k a year profit then I'm not sure why she even entered into the programme in the first place.
