In our country we have freedom of choice/speech though circa 8 million listeners is an indication that CE was clearly liked by more than a few in the last year. He's now gone from the BBC, though it'll be interesting to see what the armchair critics post when Zoe Ball has her feet under the desk.
I seriously doubt that the figures are just down to the talents of Mr Evans. More likely that the competition is worse and most of us like to listen to the radio on the way to work. Hence Radio 2 it is then. I doubt that there will be any drop at all when Zoe takes over.Sparky137 said:

A huge proportion of people have DAB and streaming services and still can't turn off Evans? Really?

Not sure you realise how fked up the BBC are.
On in the early hours on Radio 2 there use to be a dj called Alex Lester, a decent enough chap, not overbearing, fitted the overnight/early morning slot well, he got laid off by the BBC because they couldn't afford to pay him and Janice Long who did the show earlier in the night, both on a fraction of what that parasite Evans was on.
The BBC are a fking joke hence why I won't buy a licence.

Who is envious? Raygun or the DJs that got sacked because of the egotistical ginger absorbing all the budget?
The poster. I’ve never listened or honestly ever heard of those two DJs mentioned. They might have been the best thing since sliced bread or let go as they were not god enough / certainly not for the rate that was on offer for that time slot.
Also back in 2009 Wogan was being paid over £800k a year for the breakfast show plus £10k for 1 night hosting Children in Need and pulling in an audience of 7.8m. I wonder how many other DJs were let go due to Wogans salary and how many suffering kids lost out due to the fact he required a £10k for 1 evenings work on the charity show children in need? Just curious or is it only ginger Evans where this focus should be spent?

I never listen to Evans wherever he is on the airwaves.Dab radio in a lot of areas is akin to Radio Luxembourg in the 70s so that leaves either a station that tells you every five minutes where the best local place is to buy double glazing or Fake Evans, and it's the double glazing option everytime faced with them two choices.

Terry Wogans salary was a drop in the ocean compared to the millions that were unnecessarily squandered on the salary of Jonathan Ross
Another faux pas by the BBC, thinking they would lose millions of listeners if they didn't secure the services of Woss, fortunately his time came to an abrubt end.Raygun said:
Evans could of said I'll take a slight dip in my huge salary, any normal person would've found the situaton embarassing, not that parasite. The BBC isn't some private firm run by Gordon Gekko.

If they want to act like a commercial broadcaster then they should operate as one.

Clearly millions of people like listening to Evans and choose to do so. I'm bamboozled why so many people spend so much time on PH trying to convince everyone else otherwise.
8-9m people can't be trusted for choosing a radio station when there is so much choice. Next the thread will turn to 17.4m people can't be trusted as they only had the option of two boxes.
