I sort of had hoped that they were collecting previous characters - getting the band back together sort of thing - but Seven seems to have left the story, the story has left Riker and Troi, and they killed off Hugh. It seems so wasteful.

And yes, it's very slow.
Have you watched episode 7 in full? Seven is clearly not gone from the story as of yet.

Ditto. I need to rewatch it again too. I feel I missed quite a few points in the dialog when watching with the wife. Need to listen to the dialog with no distraction.

I switched on the subtitles about half way through because I felt I was missing some of the dialogue. I might have to go back and watch from the beginning again.

Good ep though. Seems to have moved forward a bit quicker than previous and nice to see Seven again.

Does seem after the mid season lull (ok, well eps 2-5, for me), the last 3 have got steadily better and the latest is fitting things together really well. Enjoyed that, looking forward to how this pans out now.

Did anyone else spot Data's eyes in the "witches" (for want of a better word) vision of the past/future - just after the "iRobot" eyes...?

It really is getting better. One of the few series when I wait for the next episode.

Still loving the theme music and it's so sad yet uplifting.

So this creation of synths 300,000 years ago or whatever that then evolved and caused problems - I wonder if this is the Borg origin story?

I like the idea, though I'm not convinced. It would be fun however if Q continuum were at the root of it all....

WRT to the episode - loved it!

I was thinking along those lines, but more with reference to humans...

Anyone else thinking of the Dr Who Cybermen invasion when the Borg were expelled from the cube to their deaths?

Given the revelations about Romulan attitudes to artificial life and the loyalties of certain characters how the bloody hell did Data, Lore and all survive so long?

Does make you wonder - the Romulans would have been after the Enterprise for 7 seasons... hehe

I wonder if the Federation squadron they were meant to meet will be in the show?
Captain Wesley Crusher in command?
