Just watched the Land Rover Episode. If you eliminate all the talking, you get about 5 minutes of 'activity'. Since when has sticking on some stripes, attaching a few new grills, 4 wheels, plastic arches, a big box, a plastic mat , and a canvas hood (all bought items), qualify as an artisan. PS. I've no idea what the hose pipe session was meant to show either, and the point of the initial road tests. Another 11yr old drawing from Miss styllist as well. I've no idea why they have a workshop of tools and equipment either. What utter dross.
The hose pipe session showed the “bikini” top was totally useless but they still chose it.Sort of fits the general tone of the programme I suppose.

They excelled themselves, made a tacky chav mobile look even more tacky and chavy
You are underestimating their artisan skills. They barely lifted a finger to produce that pile of crap. They excelled themselves, made a tacky chav mobile look even more tacky and chavy
‘Let’s get someone to remove the purple wrap.’
‘What shall we replace it with?’
“A purple wrap.”
Genius.
Think of what they could achieve if they put their own hands to work. Program really needs to be viewed as a fly on the wall tongue-in-cheek comedy.
What does Partridge do now he’s not building a bike mid way through? Can’t remember his input at all.
At least they’re no longer pretending it’s a business.
I think Top Gear do it better... & they are taking the proverbial P***.
I was waiting for him to fit that cardboard rear spoiler contraption.
( Just waiting for the 3 - ply front spoiler now).
This was even worse than that sun faded Mini.
Makes LEEPU & co look like true artisans in the motoring world.
( just ask Martin Kemp).

The BMW was reasonably tasteful by GWG standards IMO, just needed rid of the random blue bits
But why put massive brakes on it, especially at the £1000 or so cost ? The brake test was rubbish, firstly the track was wet, to do a proper emergency stop, you need the anti-lock to kick in. It's ultimately the tires that determine the stopping distance these days, I've not yet met a car that can't lock its front wheels at 60mph with factory brakes. Might've been justifiable for track days, or a few laps of the Nürburgring ring.I've been watching this, I was amazed at just how bad some of the things they think are cool actually are. They are awful!! I do not understand who the show is aimed at, or why it's on TV.
I saw the first episode about the blokes so called 'beloved' Mk1 Ford Fiesta - Helen, oh I love a fast Ford.. oh it's a 1.1 okayy.
I went on ebay while it was on, there it was.. up for £7.5k They went on and on about doing an engine conversion, and didn't do it. It looked pretty crap too.
The knackered Mini looked awful afterwards, the cheap wheels which looked like they didn't even fit it were awful and the air ride wasn't great either.
The Mercedes GL that they kept saying AMG every other word was not an AMG at all, it was a GL350 diesel with some AMG trim bits on it.. no AMG engine etc at all. Had it have been a GL63 AMG, he'd not have gone on there!!
The Land Rover was passable, if that's your thing, but nothing that great.
The knackered BMW 1 Series was completely hideous! The blue theme did not work at all with the grey bodywork. It looked like they'd tried to imitate BMW's i models (maybe they had said that was what they were going for? I didn't listen to any of it) but it didn't work. The big brake kit was some random make (by the standards of Wilwood, AP, Brembo, Alcon, etc I've never heard of them) just because it had blue calipers, ooh!
I did not see the Mazda one as the car looked hideous anyway and I didn't care enough to see the outcome.
All in all, it's worth watching if you have recorded it and can fast forward to the reveal to see the s**t they transformed them into.
