I take it this auction was held before the programme was aired.
Huh?
hehe
it's a valid question. He means the auction was held before the series began - i.e before any viewers got to see any of these motors

It looks like it was filmed over winter.

Guess the auction was in spring(ish)?

I have never got why bidders throw in much bigger amounts when they might get it for less.

My aim is to confuse. hehe

The price of the landy is a tremendous accolade for the quality of Ant's work IMO.

To try and intimidate the other bidders. Another £5k is a bigger mental barrier than easing up to that £1k at a time.

Try and scare some people off. When it's just going up in little increments people keep on bidding because it's only another £500, if you chuck it up £4k then they stop and think about it. Sometimes works when you know the cars probably going to go for more than you're bumping it up by anyway.

Thanks.

As the auctioneer said just now ,"Who's going to blink first ?"

Am just trying to imagine Bernie and Mario having such success with their cars at Coys.

yes They were all first class restorations by the looks of things.

Add in labour and parts though and I think the P&L would look decidedly unhealthy.

Good series, thoroughly enjoyed that smile

How much did Ant actually do though? Certainly didn't see much evidence in the program.

With the timescales involved I'd say he was a hands on project manager. He openly said he had a team.

I thought I heard "these cars represent 30,000 hours labour" earlier.

So, £25 per hour x 30,000 = £750k?? Perhaps it was 3,000 hours, making £75k?

I enjoyed the programme BUT I was getting annoyed when he kept repeating the auctioneer.

Easy to pick holes in the series, but I found it enjoyable and so much better than Bernie and Mawio
