As usual, the modern Hollywood wokinistas ("Go woke, go broke!") have gone too far with their black characters, a gender changing mutant and as for their eating disorder 'agenda' it's political correctness gone mad!! /sarcasm.
You seem sensitive to 'wokeness', do you count the number of black actors in the adverts and complain that it's not representative of the real world?
To be fair, I've only seen one episode so far, so it's possible that they start to really twist the "preachiness". But so far it's been pretty good and totally on-message with the rest of 'The Boys' output.
I'm not sensitive to it but neither am I blind to the very obvious agenda in modern Hollywood. I watch TV to be entertained, not preached to but it seems almost every modern show has to have a message, it can't just he good entertainment and yes it does get quite heavy handed in the next 2 episodes. You seem sensitive to 'wokeness', do you count the number of black actors in the adverts and complain that it's not representative of the real world?

As I said it's not totally ruining my enjoyment but it's mildly annoying that a spin off of one of my favourite shows has become a bit heavy handed. Similar issues in The Boys are covered with a lot more subtlety.
Caught up with the latest episode the other night, intersting ep with everything being self-contained but it seems the agenda with the woods has been revealed now and how it might come into play in the wider universe.
Interested to see what more happens with Sam, he appears to be even more powerful than his brother based on what we're seeing.

My guess is Golden Boy wasn't that powerful, but Vaught marketing wanted him in The Seven. The Seven isn't about the most powerful supes (I won't call them heroes), it's about PR and merchandising to the domestic market. But they need to present him as being 'worthy' of his place on the team, so they augmented his power by somehow syphoning Sam's power.Interested to see what more happens with Sam, he appears to be even more powerful than his brother based on what we're seeing.

I don't see what the problem is? They made a show where they made characters with various issues that affect their lives, and these are touched on through the plot. It's done well.
If anything it'd be a bit dull & thin without some of the depth & complexity being added to the characters.
It's not as if it's a clumsy box ticking effort like certain shows did where characters, casting & chunks of the script clearly existed for no purpose beyond shoehorning various issues in.

So does this mean that Marie Moreau has the same powers as Victoria Newman (i.e. the head exploding thingy)? That would make sense as she made that guy's cock explode when he was going to rape her.....
Yes, they share the same blood control powers (manifesting as making stuff swell and explode at will), hence the whole knife across hand trick during their 1-2-1 to show it.
Just to bring it on track, I've introduced my 15 year old daughter to this and she loves it (unfortunately I forgot about some of the more explicit scenes so I'll not be having that conversation). I'm watching it too and there are references to newer episodes/seasons that I previously missed (Soldier Boy gets a mention early Season 2, for example)
I still love it and realise just how much detail is in it too

I'm really enjoying Gen V, you need to have seen The Boys first but it's really pretty solid & well written.
Some fairly complex plot too at times.
Did wonder for a bit what was happening to Polarity during that TV appearance but then remembered Victoria Newman was around for the event and twigged what was going on there. (I.e. a stroke to get him out of the way).

Is there any crossover with the original series from Gen V?
Some support characters. Compound V and how it connects to their powers. I don't think the events of the most recent episode would make much sense without watchingThe Boys.Gen V is it's own story, but it's not meant to be watched in isolation.
Good finale and enjoyed the series, though not quite up to the standards of The Boys. In other hands it could have been a bunch of really irritating teen characters in a YA version of The Boys, but I thought they did a great job keeping the spirit of the original with a fresh story.
Only disappointment was..
I think we all expected Homelander to show up, but I'd hoped we'd get a bit more of him than that! Nice WTF moment though I guess
