Will probably watch TLJ for a third time before RoS's second viewing as well, see if there's anything more to take in.
Warmed a bit to TLJ after another watch, and reading bit into the extended universe, both legacy and new canon. However, still can't forgive Rian Johnson's ego trip and who ever at Disney let it happen.
"Cops", "laser sword" and "God".
In Star Wars.
Ew.
As you've seen RoS, I don't mind commenting. YOu know that RoS rips up and reverts everything from TLJ? And in some places directly references events (throwing shade a tad).
Michael Eisner has come out to diss the Disney sequels too. THere's a lot of waffle from high ups on twitter currently.
Just realised yours and macca's quotes were regarding Joker, got it confused with CooperD's post above it in a brain fart. hehe

No didn't know they reverted it production-wise/officially! Haven't read any articles, write ups or seen any social media stuff. Just been reading into the SW universe on sites without comments sections and old books at home.

Did think some things were a bit of a jump when watching RoS, but put that down to the foundations/planning of the new trilogy being a bit... untrilogy-esque.

I don't often sit and watch films but this week in the evenings (working virtually every day time) I've tried to get through a few films on the planner. Been a bad week. Think there might have been another film or 2 in there but would have been utterly forgettable. Couldn't believe how dull most of the films were

Oceans 8,
Downsizing,
Mary queen of scots,
Overlord,
Fantastic 4,

Might give up on films after all that dross laugh

Lovely looking Islero
That's the bit where our man Rog is racing home to find his doppleganger has taken up residence, but having driven both of my P5Bs in a similar manner I can assure you the same thing occurs when you lean forward to crack open the front quarterlight, or to fiddle with the umbrella handbrake under the dash when the warning light keeps flickering hehe

I've got the two Sweeney spin off films lined up to watch tonight if I'm not called in to work.... punchdrinkdrivingcop

ETA : the Islero came up for sale twice in recent years, the first time was for c.£75k, the second time I think it was over £200k!

Although uncharitable (lol) to moan, £2 is indeed the upper end of the going rate for DVDs in a charity shop. Going rate is 50p to £1, with one charity shop near me selling them at 6 for £1 (which is way less than going rate). Having said that, I have seen some shops charging £1.99 per DVD so your £2 isn't totally "out there".
It's been £2 in the local CEX for ages, and I was hoping it'd make it in to their 50p shelf, but it didn't. One of those shops (CEX or Cash Convertors) gives 1p each for DVDs now, so they clearly don't want them, but I was holding out. I find a lot of charity shops are a bit ambitious on pricing for stuff like paperback fiction and the like.

It depends on the region, I find. Whenever I am in a town of any sort, and have the time, I always pop into the charity shops as there are some great bargains to be had. However, I do find that prices vary wildly.

In some towns, I can pick up clothes from brands like Per Una, New Look, Red Herring, Fat Face, and the like for silly-low prices like £3-£4 a pop, whilst in other towns they want rather ambitious prices like £8-£15 for the equivalent.

Fortunately for me, my local charity shops are in the former category. I have too many clothes as a result. smile

I watched Geostorm the other night...

Of course, me finally buying the DVD is a cue for it to be on a freeview channel in the very near future.
It’s currently free (well included) on Prime hehe

A bit too predictable that one really, and his American accent does become a little Paisley at times. Oh well, have seen worse!

Two movies at cinema today as day off

Jojo Rabbit - very unusual film, a Hitler youth kid with Adolf as his imaginary friend, very funny at times, quite risqué with Jew gags, very original 8/10

The Gentlemen - usual Ritchie fare, gangsters, guns, swearing and geezers. Hugh Grant as the slimey pap is the highlight 7/10

Went along the other morning to see that thinking it would be empty but was sold out, so have replanned it for tomorrow.

Watched Snatch the other night to get me in the mood, but am hoping in the twenty years that have passed, it's moved up a gear.

You description doesn't inspire me too much. frown

Seen the trailer as it's not out, but is Hugh Grant trying to impersonate Ben Kingsley from Sexy Beast?

Honestly worth a watch! My BIL and his missus went to see it last night and we were supposed to meet for drinks after.

I came away actually liking Hugh Grant far more. Yes, the first few minutes were a bit cringe but I was still in Paddington 2 mode I think? I just saw the whole film as a cartoonesque entertainment as opposed to something attaining critical acclaim. I enjoyed it. 8/10

Couple of days ago, having some work to do at home, I sorted a ROMCOM for Mrs.DG3, “Bridget Jones Baby”. Didn’t get much work done, as it was far more entertaining, than the title implied.

I liked FIRST MAN - grounded with no over the top american hero rammed down your throat - ryan was quite understated - dont know Neil armstrong was supposed to be but i enjoyed it all the way through.

Black & Blue 2019 - crime drama not unlike training day, with a tad more realism. Naomie Harris is the lead. I suspect it to be overlooked, but the film itself is very solid and a true gem for fans of the genre.
