Absolutely!

I chose this for Mrs phazed this evening, Brooklyn.

Young Irish girl goes to see work and new life in 1950-ish Brooklyn. Actually really well acted and a neat little story strangely enjoyed by me. I'd keep that to myself!

Good, very immersive viewing, but not light entertainment. A good 'film', not something I'd rush to see twice. Once you know the story, I'm not sure what else it has to offer.

Terminator Dark Fate

Still a great action/sci-fi film as you would expect but i wish they had used a better writing team and mixed it up a bit, all a bit same old
Watched this on the weekend - thought it was excellent! My missus loved it as well.
I watched this too and really enjoyed it - I've only ever seen the first 3.

Marriage Story - on Netflix

Thought it was quite good. The Star Wars guy, Driver, is a little strange, as is Scarlett Johansson IMHO. Well acted though, i thought.

It's quite entertaining watching two people argue.

It was sobering though, watching the lawyers get rich at the demise of the couple.

Watched it with my wife as an educational piece hehe

... as a small side note: Adam Driver used to be a US Marine. He has a TED talk about it - available of YouTube and worth a watch.

Well I didn’t know that.

The US Marine bit I mean, lawyers getting rich from relationship breakdown I’m all too aware of.

Jude Law can act. He seemed to forget that here. Avoid. Just avoid. 4/10.

IT Chapter 2

I enjoyed it, perhaps not quite as good as chapter 1, I have no idea why it needed to be 2hr 45m long though.

Fisherman's Friends.

Gave it 20 minutes and that was generous. Awful script, abysmal accents.

2/10 lobster pots for the bit I watched.

Sobering is the right word.

Adam Driver is a most interesting character. He's in a roundtable of actors with De Niro, Hanks and others.
I put it here.

It's almost so bad it's good. Almost but not quite.

Mind you, I just read some online reviews and going by those I think I must have seen a different film altogether. All I saw were lame 70's cliches, stereotypes and zero plot. Given the era it's set in, the soundtrack could have been awesome. It wasn't.

Interstellar - i like mr nolans movies a lot, but this one just missed a beat for me - sure its well polished, not sure , perhaps its the lead of MM that didnt really gel with me.

i'd enjoy watching a movie with those robots in it all day though.

Rambo: Last Blood

If I rated this objectively i would say it was bang average. Worth a watch if there was nothing else on if you like brain out mindless violence.

I do like the Rambo films though and therefore loved it...as did my young son!

Felt like the end of an era frown.

Brooklyn

Lovely little Friday night film headed by Bill Murray.

Lots of laughs as he takes a miserable shine to the child next door while doing a bit of after-school childminding. I can only wish to be as miserable and cantankerous as him in my later years, (I think I am there now). His car is a shed above all other sheds! So awful it has "cool" appeal.

7.7/10

I LOVE mindless violence. Didn't know this existed. That's my evening of viewing sorted.

Goodfellas

Fabulous. Watching The Irishman a few weeks ago prompted me to look up a few Scorsese classics to remind myself how good they were. A much better film than the Irishman, which lacked any tension and took me 2 sessions to watch (I fell asleep halfway through, and got thoroughly irritated by Pacino's over acting).

Great story, well acted & perfectly edited.

I think Casino needs another watch next.
