I too watched this, along with about another dozen james bonds over the last few weeks.

The film was ok, but after about 30 seconds of the new Q I wanted to punch fk out him and hit him over his head with his SONY VAIO laptop.
EFA - They dont pay that sort of money for morons on forums not to mention the subtle product placement... wink

John Wick

Keanu Reeves play an ex 'Master Assassin' where events transpire that he gets back into the game fighting and killing 10's of Russian stereotypes. It's quite like the Equalizer really, retired one man killing machine, a la Taken. Doesn't take as long as the former to get into the action and when it does it's a bit Matrix-esque at times.

Really one not to over think. Brains out popcorn movie 7/10

I watched Kes again recently.
Thanks for the review, I'll be watching it soon.
I saw the film and read the book while at school. Excellent.

Skyfall. Hadn't bothered to watch it before. I liked it, it's not a bond film to me but it was good. Returning to the original office at the end was a nice touch.
It's not a return to the original office, it's the first time any of them have been there. wink
Still wondering how the "old" Aston Martin makes sense then...
Didn't Q make that one?
It doesn't make any sense. The plot holes in this film are probably the most glaring of any I've seen. I still really enjoyed it though.

Finally got round to watching Wolf On Wall Street.....what a disappointment...an hour too long and Scorcese trying to do stuff that was great in the 70's but was just too cliched today, particularly the 'ad lib' scenes (midget throwing conversation and cash hand over in the parking lot by the Rolls Royce)...only saving grace was Leo.......5/10

WTF is The Grand Budapest Hotel all about...?.

Just watched this, a story a narrative a comedy, a joke.. I must say I am more than a little confused.
Some great writing and acting, but. On the whole very confusing.

It's bound to clean up at the Oscars.

It's about being an utterly bonkers film which is hugely funny and amazing to watch. It gets a 10 in my book and either it or Birdman deserves the Oscar- unlike Imitation Game or The Theory of Everything which are both mediocre at best but lifted by superb acting by Messrs Cumberbatch and Redmayne respectively

I thought the same although most people I know seem to rate it highly. It's way too long and a bit of a one trick pony. OK, I get it, he's rich and likes a party, what's next?

I watched Fury last night. It's well shot and gets quite tense at times. I wouldn't say it stands out from many other good war movies but well worth a watch. 7/10.

Hector and the search for happiness 4/10.

Am man travels the world searching for happiness, it takes him 2 hours through 3 continents for him to realise happiness.

Rather boring to be honest. I can't say much more without giving the ending away but anyone with half a brain can figure it out .

It won't. The Academy don't get Wes Anderson.

Recently watched.

American Sniper, just superb, harrowing, unflinching, an emotional ride, Eastowood is a superb director. The ending scene brought tears to my eyes.

Fury, a different take on World War 2, I really like the gritty, desaturated cinematography. A great portrayal of men and machine in combat.

Both these films will become classics IMHO.

I had my reservations after reading the premise - a man kills people for his murdered dog and a car.
However, it was a little gem of a film and not your typical brain-out action at that. Thought provoking and deeper than it looks at first glance. A few nice touches (easter eggs) as well. The only sort of plot hole is where's his car in the end?. Suppose it doesn't matter smile

Don't know why, but for some reason it reminded my of Revolver.

My dear boy, you have clearly been using too much L'air de Panacache.

Just finished watching Unbreakable for the umpteenth time. Top 10 film for me. Story of a man with brittle bone disease and his growing friendship with a man who has never had a day off sick in his life....
Slow, quiet and beautifully made. Bruce willis and Sammy Jackson.... 9.9

If it were made today there'd probably be an Unbreakable 2 and 3 already in production...

It's a comedy.

You may or may not get the comedy. Depends what you find funny.

Watched John Wick yesterday.

OH MY DAYS!

Really fun, gritty action thriller with a strange deeper level metaphor level to it too.

Really recommend!
