Admittedly I only tend to half watch the show, with my attention not 100% on it, but last night we'd heard the 'disturbing scenes' warning before hand and sat waiting....and waiting, and honestly had no idea the final scene was a suicide, we just looked at each other with a WTF look, so how did he do it, didn't see any claret anywhere other than his coat, no bottle of pills, nothing.

That was the idea I think, to prevent copycat suicides. Not that watching an episode of Corrie could push you over the edge.... actually ...The warning again was probably just to cover their backs. Can't have the viewers getting offended (and they rewinding to check) can we !

Think I read they weren't allowed to show *anything* due to broadcasting restrictions (pre water-shed).The warning again was probably just to cover their backs. Can't have the viewers getting offended (and they rewinding to check) can we !
Agree with the comments about how sudden it was. Did seem incredibly rushed.
I thought it was a bit unlikely that Shona would take Eva somewhere private and tell her of Aidan's death, when she only had it on the word of a third party. Makes sense to me to keep quiet until the full facts are known.
Aidan's supposedly "luxury" apartment had 2 white-painted hardboard doors and 1 white four-panel door. I'm a born pedant.

It was hard watching. What was hardest for me was a personal experience of what Aiden did, 'don't go (wherever relevant) call police', which is exactly how a scenario close to me took place.
Kate Oates has handled it really badly mind, it is a major injustice that she allowed it to come from nowhere. It's the biggest killer of men under 40, and she's not provided a realistic lead up. Shame on her.

Forgive me, because I cannot speak from experience here, but isn't it sometimes that the action comes out of the blue or appears to do to those around the person? Haven't they left it blurry because this is what happens, that nobody expects it and that everyone is left with regret that they didn't see any signs and didn't do that one thing that they think could have prevented it all?
