I don't normally have to make my suspension of disbelief work quite so hard, and frequently wonder why I'm still watching it. Irritating and entertaining is equal parts.

We can all suspend disbelief but it is quite difficult with a show like this which in a way feels quite realistic to us as it is made in Britain and in theory should follow the real regimented rules/laws of policing.

It is hard to take some of the crap seriously.

Why is their interview room in the middle of an open plan office for one. especially after what the Caddy did last time.

If Arnott is correct Balaclava Man has been carried over from S1 (Tommy's goons who killed Jackie Laverty and were going to use the boltcutters on him in the warehouse). If they have been carried over (ie its the same bunch of criminals then it really is a big suspension of disbelief).

Not if you consider the interweaved thread of widescale police corruption. ACC Hilton is bent as hell & was a senior copper in the station involved in S1.

To hold such leverage over a somewhat reluctant officer in AC-12 as to coerce her to engage in corruption is quite telling.

On BBC Breakfast News earlier this week Adrian Dunbar said that not everything would be resolved in episode six.

I think there is risk of this drama running for too many series and as a consequence the quality suffers unless they can attract A-List actors like Thandie Newton in the future.

I've loved this program from the start but this series and this last episode have been really piss poor.
Thankfully tomorrows episode is the finale. If there were 3 or 4 more than I would have just stopped watching.

I suggested to the Mrs that we binge on the first 3 series before this one but was outranked.

I can't remember what part DCS Hargreaves played in S2 (he was vice iirc & investigated an aspect relating to Carry, the young suspected prostitute).

Anyway, Hargreaves makes an appearance in S4 Ep 6.

Article in the Sunday Times today says Balaclava Man (or woman?!) will be unmasked tonight. Says there will be "a fifth and probably a 6th series". Adrian Dunbar "hinted" that he based Ted Hastings on Sir Alex Ferguson and Bil Shankley.
