One thing that's been bugging me and not mentioned on this thread is that shouldn't Michael Farmer have an Appropriate Adult with him when being interviewed by the police?
Wouldn't the lawyer count as an appropriate adult? I know he seems to be a bit useless, but for the box-ticking wouldn't that be enough? We can all suspend disbelief but it is quite difficult with a show like this which in a way feels quite realistic to us as it is made in Britain and in theory should follow the real regimented rules/laws of policing.
It is hard to take some of the crap seriously.
Why is their interview room in the middle of an open plan office for one. especially after what the Caddy did last time.

This ^^^^To hold such leverage over a somewhat reluctant officer in AC-12 as to coerce her to engage in corruption is quite telling.

Not if you consider the interweaved thread of widescale police corruption. ACC Hilton is bent as hell & was a senior copper in the station involved in S1.

Of course! Ive just watched Series 1 and remembered one of the closing scenes (Tommy the Scot grinning as Hilton releases him....To hold such leverage over a somewhat reluctant officer in AC-12 as to coerce her to engage in corruption is quite telling.

I can't remember what part DCS Hargreaves played in S2 (he was vice iirc & investigated an aspect relating to Carry, the young suspected prostitute).
Anyway, Hargreaves makes an appearance in S4 Ep 6.
