Clarkson’s Farm
Discussion
I hope there is another series, but I hope more that it doesn't end up in scripted fakeness as per top gear/ the grand tour just to appeal to people who need constant drama to be interested.
I'd be quite happy with just the day to day life of someone trying to build up a functional farm. It doesn't need to be staged.

This thread no longer seems to actually be about the programme.
I don't think there will be a second series.
Why not?I don't think there will be a second series.
I hope there is a second series, it's been universally praised.

Do you mean you have inside information and you are not fully cogniscent of a decision being made regarding whether a second series will be made or not, or, you just don't know any more than the rest of us do?
Back on topic.
Jeremy has clearly and properly turned into a true farmer. It's reported in the press that he told a group of self righteous ramblers who were complaining about his tractoring to "Get off my land - unless you're buying one of my delicious Scotch eggs."![rofl](/inc/images/rofl.gif)
Give it to 'em Jezza, sodding ramblers, too often complete asshats.

That was in his regular article (in The Times ?). Apparently filming has been going on at Diddly Squat very recently, which bodes well for another series.Jeremy has clearly and properly turned into a true farmer. Lisa has said that they were filming when Jeremy caught covid in December, so that all but confirms that there will be a second series. It makes sense that there would be since it’s a low cost production.FiF said:

As are the farmers who treat public footpaths with disdain , pollute watercourses with run off , cover the countryside with discarded rubbish and assume they have exclusive rights over country roads. There are idiots of all stamps . Jeremy has clearly and properly turned into a true farmer. Not sure a season 2 would be that great - but then again I wasn't sure about season 1! Really enjoyed it and I think it highlighted some serious issues that farmers have to deal with.
Farming is clearly all about routine. And then more routine. And then some more.
I can imagine a second season being very good as well, although after another year on the farm, I'm not sure how much freshness you could bring without radically changing what the farm does with a great deal of artifice involved.
I'll watch the second series as, like everyone else here, me & the missus found it compulsive viewing. But I can see it getting boring or highly-staged really fast if it's just used as a cash cow by Amazon.

I wish the weather knew that.I'd like to see it break out from Amazon Prime. I know people who use the fact that they don't have Prime as an excuse because they fear they might actually like something Clarkson does.

I think the fact that Clarkson is trying to find how to make the business profitable will mean the the series evolves naturally. He's clearly trying different angles, actually it's quite impressive how many he has tried in his first year. He hasn't just planted 1000 acres of potatoes and the series will be 10 episodes of him tending them.
It works because Clarkson has "ingredient X" what ever that is, it means he is watchable and entertaining and actually likable. He is relatable to many and that is why folk watch his stuff.
Its not about Top Gear, its not about Grand Tour, its now obvious that he brings the interest in what he is presenting or doing.
Its why I don't watch "new" Top Gear, I tried, I really did but it's not the same. I did watch GT but it was not as good as old TG because it wanted to be old TG.
This Farm show was in my head as "oh well, ill give it a go since it's him" and I was happily surprised by how good it was. Its like he's got a whole new lease of life and is actually into what he's doing and not just going through the motions.
I will be pleased to see a second series, its got lots of life in this one and tons more interest to keep the viewer hooked.

Just finished watching the series.
Thought it was a superb piece of tv..some brilliant characters, especially Gerald and Kaleb obviously![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)
Enjoyed the mix of humour and the real world learning experience around the farming techniques.
Hope S2 follows, I think Jezza is quite smitten with the lifestyle and actually achieving something, other than earning £££££'s....
