Enjoyed it but didn’t like the way the first half was going. Was a bit long, could have been two parter.

I was thinking that - but it made the 'twist' / second half all the better for it.

Excellent stuff as always.

Alice Roberts... cloud9
Yes, and Rachel Sterling...so like her Mum
I had no idea she was her mum!
Yes. And her mum played her mum in the earlier episodes.
The relationship stuff for both of the main characters and the Crook characters "return" to archaeology set it up perfectly for another series. Shame Alice Roberts didn't have more of a part but in my experience non-actors cant even act themselves so perhaps it was a good thing.

I'm sure I saw a row of trees beside a field that was in Worzel Gummidge with Crook a year or two ago when the rare bird was found.

All in all, I loved it.

I don’t get Andy and his wife’s relationship. For a start he’s definitely ‘punching’, secondly she doesn’t like him and is nasty to him…..which he deserves.
Also I really don’t like everything being explained to me in the script. Apart from that it was a good episode with a nice punchline!

I was a little confused by the ending?
Were they suggesting the holy grail was a mass produced cup ?

Yes - the cup itself was mass produced - but there is still only one holy grail.

Which when you think about it - is probably more plausible than it being a gold, bejeweled fancy drinking vessel that is often depicted.

The girl who collected the cups at the end of the Last Supper just took one random cup. Bit of a con. No doubt used by the gullible as THE cup. No proof at all that it was the one used by Jeethub. An odd ending - Lance had already said that he would chuck out the homemade decoration containing the cup, after 3 weeks. Are we to assume that he wouldn't notice the broken bit and the revealed cup? Is this an opening for another episode next Christmas?

Yes - but we know that one is the 'real' one - look at the effect it had on Russell hehe

She didn’t take a random cup, she was watching them drink and only took Jesus’ cup.

Yea he’s deff punching! Think she does love him but is just very frustrated but both him and her work/job situation.

That relationship and career stuff was a bit heavy if it wasn't going anywhere with regards another episode or series.

I'd like to see Linda lusardi in a cameo, maybe Lance's squeeze.

Just watched the Christmas special.

Loved it, hugely enjoyable.

I’m sure I will now have to go back to watch more episodes.
