The tasks were done out of order as well. In the first challenge the bloke with one leg had bright red hands, the second was then to make the bagels, where you saw him with red food colouring all over his hands.
In the scheme of things it didn't really matter, but it bothered me.
I still stand by the comments I made in the first episode, these bakers are poor. I get it's about amateur baking, but every other season has been a much higher standard than this one.
I've noticed out of sequence editing quite a few times this series. Never spotted it before. Guess it's to make it seem everyone is really pushed for time. In the scheme of things it didn't really matter, but it bothered me.

Its not brilliant editing and not something I've noticed any other season. Obviously this year has been done under difficult circumstances but still, the whole thing just feels much more amateur. SistersofPercy said:

I'd noticed that and I agree most of this years bakers are st.In the scheme of things it didn't really matter, but it bothered me.

Jeez - i thought all baking was pretty poor this week by the majority - i think a couple of clearly good bakers are showing through now - just got to wait for a few weeks to remove the chaff ....
Lucas - grrr he's still irrating me - and now hes got something against Paul and smashing food into his face......

Some poor efforts for the cake, half of them not even iced correctly, you could see the cake still.
The Babkas are about the only things that looked good so far, and that's because they're meant to have a random pattern. How can you grease up an oven tray, roll out the dough and not realise it is going in said tray?! "Oh it's too long", WTF?!

What do you mean?!, these are the best bakers in the country surely .... The Babkas are about the only things that looked good so far, and that's because they're meant to have a random pattern. It is over two days, but they are required to wear the same clothes both days, so presumably that's done so they can pick and choose b-roll, close ups etc from the whole weekend to build it into a complete show.sgtBerbatov said:
I said to the wife after the signature, that it's going to come down to who Paul thinks is the best ride.
Then Sura goes, and Lottie stays.
Do people actually believe this? Every year there's always talk about Paul "knobbing" the young, attractive one, but other than the tabloid gossip columns I don't think there's ever been a instance? Then Sura goes, and Lottie stays.
If Sura had actually produced an edible showstopper then I'm pretty sure Lottie would have gone, but as it was pretty close between the 2 of them going into the final round I don't think they had much choice at this stage of the competition.
I don't think Lottie will stay much longer though... even I know that you're supposed to put the dough inside the baking tin and not drape it over the sides
The contestants on Celebrity Bake Off are usually better than this lot, some really basic mistakes. How did Sura not realise her cake was raw, did she not put a knife in the middle? Their brownies were all terrible and brownies are so simple they're one of the few things I can bake. Not a big Noel fan but prefer him to Matt Lucas.

One of the contestants mentioned "we are supposed to be the best amature bakers in the country"
errr no mate
your the best cross section of people to get viewer numbers up
They're also the ones that agreed to isolate with the rest of the contestants and production team, maybe a lot of the first choices said they didn't want to?errr no mate

This year it’s a bit different. errr no mate
you’re the best cross section of people to get viewer numbers up
They are the best amateur bakers who:
A - applied to take part
B - could bake adequately enough to be considered
C - passed a screen test so were considered articulate enough with clear enough diction to come across well on TV (I’d be eliminated at this point for swearing too much)
D - could commit to a month or two in a bubble which is why so many of them are retired, furloughed, work for the NHS or are self employed and possibly between contracts.

Indeed, as far as 'the show' goes surely they would loved Sura to have stayed much longer, she appeared to be comfortably the most popular 'character' in the tent.If Sura had actually produced an edible showstopper then I'm pretty sure Lottie would have gone, but as it was pretty close between the 2 of them going into the final round I don't think they had much choice at this stage of the competition.
