The Rise Of Skywalker

Never got round to catching this in the cinema but digital format was released yesterday. WOW is all I can say, loved it from start to finish. Dont even want to look at the other thread about it as I can imagine the all the nit picking and negativity but as a life long fan of the franchise 11/10

Watched ...JACK REACHER : NEVER GO BACK.......earlier.

Quite good, kept my attention, which is unusual but Tom Cruise hogs the script, only about 3 short scenes when he's not on screen .

8.5 Coby Smulders\10 Felled agents.

Sky had the original Italian Job on their main screen this evening so downloaded/watched it and forgot about the st state of the world.

Seen it countless times since being a kid in the '70s, know so much of the dialogue, but was as watchable as always.

10/10

Just noticed "A Quiet Place" is on CH4 at 9pm on Saturday.
We watched the first hour of this last night but had to turn it off. It’s brilliantly shot, great acting, original story but it’s just too damm stressful to watch! Who has a baby in that situation!?

scratchchin there's an idea there for watching heaps of sports films - many are terrible (especially football related), but there plenty of decent ones.

It would be a terrific bonus if the films were not all crap.

Just because of the space theme I finally got round to watching Ad Astra. I expected it to be abysmal, based on reviews, and it was.

Almost impossible to believe that a film maker could get the science so wrong.

2/10 at most.

Harley Quinn - errr, not too bad, wasn't terrible, but I wanted it to be better, it was average I'd say smile 6/10

Spenser Confidential. - not bad, fairly enjoyable Netflix action comedy with Marky Mark and Winston Duke (from Black Panther) 6/10

Predator 2 - underrated imo, soo 90's biggrin

For those who recommended Anna on here - thanks for helping me waste my time. Nothing is remotely meaningful about that film, or its plot.

I caught Trumbo on dvd yesterday.

Based on a true story about Dalton Trumbo who was Hollywood's top screenwriter, until he and other artists were jailed and blacklisted by the McCarthyite anti-communist witch hunts of 1947 onwards. Strong performances from Bryan Cranston and Helen Mirren among others, not least Dean O'Gorman doing a very credible younger Kirk Douglas...

Since Mandy was lauded on here, I take review with a massive pinch of salt, it was st.

The Report, the 2019 film on a report into CIA torture post "9/11" with Adam Driver. It's very good, it holds your attention for 2 hours with basically no "hook" at all - no humour, no excitement, or even really any suspense. Just a good story well told and acted. 8/10
