I've never in my life seen a film rented for that price and I remember when new releases were sold on video for hundreds of pounds. If people want to pay fair enough but it is a ridiculous price.
You do understand these are films newly released at the cinema, normally you rent films 6-12 months after they leave the cinema.

You should be comparing £15.99 to the cost of two or more people going to the cinema not normal rentals
I wish I hadn’t paid for 3 of us to see The Invisible Man last weekend frown

couple of good ones:

Mudbound - Deep South drama of racial tension between two families one white one black following WW2, very good and sobering 8/10

Galveston - hitman is betrayed, and runs with a girl in tow, grim but high quality 8/10

Pitch perfect 2

Possibly one of the most heavily inappropriate adult comedy wrapped up in a family sing along.

Brilliant

Bloodshot - so so comic-book actioner. It REALLY falls apart for Brits during a chase through 'London' but, over-all, it didn't have me walking out. Watched this on Monday - just before BoJo announced that all cinemas etc should shut

“About time”. Typical Richard Curtis romcom, but given that it has Lindsay Duncan, Bill Nighy and Tom Hollander - it is all good.

Oh and early Margot Robbie and Rachel McAdams if that helps....

If you have seen any other RC film, you will know the style.

6 weddings and christenings out of 1 funeral from me.
Watched this film on your recommendation and some good IMDB reviews. Now I’m not a Richard Curtis fan particularly although the Boat That Rocked and 4 Weddings...wernt half bad. This however...jeeeezus...I gave it 10 minutes and realised that it was nearly as bad as Love Actually and I can tell you that is a VERY bad review. Why Curtis insist on narration ala Hugh Grant is beyond me...and all the whimsical Englishness is vomit inducing. 10 minutes was enough!

About time - lightweight chick flick but vaguely watchable for reasons mentioned (mainly Margot)

Spenser confidential - switch brain off and enjoy. I liked it, a nice diversion from current events

By the numbers cop corruption Netflix movie

Enjoyable enough. Worth a watch.
Absolute garbage it is.
Awful acting. Budget must have been tiny.

I usually enjoy what Wahlberg stars in too.
It couldn’t decide if it was a comedy, thriller or kung Foo movie. It ended up missing every mark by a long shot. Paired with Wahlberg trying to carry the entire thing by falling back on his “What’s that? Timmy is stuck in a mine shaft” type acting. He sounds like he is both short of breath and talking to a collie.

Superbad, a welcome distraction from the grim real world news.
Just gear from start to finish. Jonah Hill at his best.
That (Superbad) film holds my personal record for quickest switch-off.
I think it was “of it’s day” in that it pushed some boundaries. Similar probably for 40 year old virgin. Although that one may age better.

Jesus Christ, how old are you? Superbad was gross out comedy genius.

The King All Hail

Grubbing round for something to watch, I wasn't expecting a lot of this historical drama.

However, I found it engrossing and well balanced, always a pleasant surprise. Recommended.

Rebel Without a Cause

Never seen it before. Enjoyed it. Slightly surprised at how seemingly innocuous a knife fight was to the nonchalant security guard.

Callan (Sony Classic Movies)

Certainly of its time but I liked it. Some familiar old faces and decent motors. I think it was before the series as Anthony Valentine wasn't in it and Hunter was played by Eric Porter (Moriarty in Brett's Sherlock Holmes)

Moon. Was on the Sony film channel lastnight but I watched it on Amazon as I bought it ages ago and hadn't ever watched it. I liked it, Sam Rockwell is in probably over 90% of the film as it's all about him on the moon base. Wish I'd seen it sooner.

Because indoors and no cinemas, I'm going through films that I've never seen but really should have, last week was Galaxy Quest, and yes it's great hehe .

We watched Twelve Monkeys "as a virtual group" with mates (it's on iPlayer, so the easiest to all access - we have formed a weekly film night!)
Maybe the time travel element is a bit far fetched, but also quite pertinent - good film!

Introduced the missus to Total Recall, the Arnie version, on Saturday night. I hadn't watched it in 20 years or so. Hasn't aged well, one of those that now looks so bad, it's good. Still enjoyed it, though she fell asleep last 20mins.
