Paddy's the one it all revolves around though
There has to be another way. He’s ruining it. Give Mat Watson a chance. Quite charming. Quite funny. Knows about cars. 3-0 up against Paddy.

I think they know they had to put him in the middle otherwise he’d go all game without a touch and that reflects badly on the Manager.
Loved that, especially the daftness of the challenges - do a lap, eat a chilli. Flintoff at the end was hilarious. I don’t care that it’s puerile, I don’t care that people pretend they can’t understand what they’re saying, I don’t care that the same people crop up week after week saying where the show falls down, I enjoyed it, the three presenters obviously enjoyed it and I can’t wait for next week’s episode.

It was silly but I enjoyed it. Their chemistry is very good.
Yep! Both the wife and I enjoyed it for what it was, an hour of light entertainment. Some laugh-out-loud moments.I like the fact that the three presenters seemed to enjoy themselves (most!) of the time as well.
I find current Top Gear quite similar to current Manchester United.
They were supremely successful with past hosts (the trio) and regime (Andy Wilman, Richard Porter, etc) but since then have tried hosts who haven’t worked, some of their current hosts don’t quite fit, and they are managed by people who view it as an entertainment show first, car show second.
For example what’s the point of reviewing the ultimate Huracan and not lapping it round the track? At least mention the time if you can’t produce the video.
They still can do really good stuff - eg Eddie Kidd, McRae, Speedtail, etc - but it just feels somethings missing ever since it moved to BBC One.
