So did I, once or twice, but it wasn't a very good programme.

TG always does this. Strong start, average averageness for an episode then peaks in the last episode. How long to learn?

With only 5 episodes 40% of the series is already done.

So 3 caravan manufacturers and 3 car manufacturers thinking wtf was all that about. tting around giving absolutely no meaningful input on any of the products. As mentioned earlier this is lazy television production and very poor quality.
Enjoyed the piece on the Sto, but Harries while maybe a better driver will never review a car as well as Clarkson or at least with as much entertainment.

There was a time when I thought the Mclaren Senna was peak clown car.

Come off it
The 3 caravans are not mass market they are niche to the extreme - good awareness but nothing more.

The 3 EVs show you can tow they do have reasonable range but also highlight they are all not cheap by some margin.

What did the 3x caravans and 3x EVs get out of it? What was it 20+ mins on prime time TV with a live viewing audience of what 3-5million. Product placement and 3 very good cars at that too.

That audi have a wrap on it or is it a thing to have silver door jams?
Yeah, one of the Audi press cars has a red wrap, so that will have been the car on TG. No idea why it’s wrapped mind.

Except it demonstrated the major relevant fact, that they didn't actually address, which is that EVs generally can't tow the caravans that people alreay own. They dressed it up as 'the future of caravanning' rather tha doing some proper consumer-interest reviews.

Plus, they laughed at all the caravans (not exactly great publicity for the manufacturers), and several times they said that the Mercedes' range was ste.

They would have had to say the same thig about the Audi, except Harris left the caravan behind.

And 'hot laps'. Who the fk thought that up? Alan Partridge?

I notice that FF and PMc are regularly grouped together and criticised, but I think that this is unfair.

I think that Andrew Flintoff is quite a find, and he never lets you down. Super-competitive and with a big pair of plums. I don't hate Paddy McGuinness, but the most impressive thing about him is his ability to weave a career out of being Peter Kay's mate and repeating the same trite 'Northern' bullst over and over. Making something out of nowt is an achievement, but I had had enough of the Lancashire bks 20yrs ago
.
If I was reshuffling, then I would keep Freddie in, without a doubt. Who would have thought that when he was announced as a host, two series back?

Adam.

Crikey that was a hard watch, and CH dumping the caravan rather ruined the comparison challenge

Polestar looks quite cool, much nicer than a Tesla

Even by modern Top Gear standards that was very poor.

I thought it was good, but a sort of 'filler' episode.

They did a decent enough review of the 3 electric cars (covering price, looks, range, how it drove) and had a laugh. When they introduced the chilli's I did think how is this relevant etc.? But what followed was funny, and with Freddie as we have come to expect showing user competitiveness.

Good Sunday night entertainment! Iceland next week should hopefully be a step up again.

I gave up on TG a few years ago in the latter Clarkson era ,it was getting same old ,same old .
By default happened on last night's , nothing new ,give it a few more years ,and might look in again .
The original trio in the early days worked well together but then fell apart ,and grand tour is no improvement ,this bunch are just three guys with no connection .

Enjoyed it. Lambo feature was a bit same again.

Spotted out pitch on the campsite.

Revelation that electric cars are still useless for towing! Not really. They demonstrated it in a numerous way rather than an old top gear documentary style!

I’ll be watching next week.

Irrelevant to the post I was quoting.
Bloody hell what is it with people on here recently, specifying who can and can't reply to their posts, and how relevant it's got to be? Like a bunch of teenage girls. DON'T TALK TO ME!! SO UNFAAAAAIR!!!

Paddy's the one it all revolves around though
There has to be another way. He’s ruining it.

Give Mat Watson a chance. Quite charming. Quite funny. Knows about cars. 3-0 up against Paddy.
No, just no, no no no no no. As bad as Paddy's accent is, Mat Watson's is 100 times worse.

I actually hurt my sides laughing so much at the chilli eating I never realised that was possible.

I enjoyed it - if I wanted to beard out at geeky car stuff I’d watch an interminably dull YouTube vid (or Fifth Gear) but as Sunday entertainment designed to distract the proles (that’s me) it hit the spot!

I think it emphasised the fact that electric cars aren’t ‘not very good at towing’ but instead ‘completely incapable of towing reliably’

Polestar’s usually acceptable range mileage rapidly withered to nothing because of modest sized & quite aerodynamic box trailer whereas Audi relieved of trailer tent completed a journey that it’s trip computer previously calculated that it wouldn’t by a significant margin.

I thought that episode was hilarious, and the Huracan STO segment was probably the weakest bit for me.

It’s entertaining IMO and I still enjoy the nerdy stuff like Edd China’s workshop diaries.
