Gravity

Dear god, what a lot of utter tripe.
More fantastic than an imaginary reefer wearing a rabbit and almost as stupid as the final rescue scenes of The Martian.

Last time I checked neither of those were documentaries.

These are works of fiction for entertainment, some of the better ones actually!

The Ghoul - British indie crime thriller delving quickly into drug abuse, mental illness and occult territory. I've really no idea what it was all about. WTF/10

The Limehouse Golem, i'm not sure to be honest, 6/10 i think. It has a good cast but the plot was average and it didn't take too long to guess who the main antagonist was.

I watched this on Amazon Video, what a boring mess of a film that was. I thought it would be OK, as I bought a film called Prevenge, with Alice Lowe, who I quite like as an actress. Buy boy, was The Ghoul dull!. When stripped down, it was like a bad Tales of the Unexpected plot!

We watched the new IT last night, and thought it was very good. I think Mark Kermode nailed in in his review when he said it was like a cross between The Goonies and Poltergeist.

I tried watching this again recently. Now the hype has died down and the impact of the stunning visuals has calmed, it is a bloody awful film. Terrible dialogue, ridiculous characters, terrible choice of lead characters and an absurd story.

As Good As It Gets

Not new but still a great film. Nicholson is brilliant and I never even nodded, let alone fell asleep.
One of the greats.

Watched "Big Fish" last night, daughters choice and a relative oldie.

I really enjoyed it, well made and who doesn't like Albert Finney!

Also made me realise that the coupe part of the Dodge Charger looks ungainly.............

A surprising 8/10
That looks quite good. might have to watch and see if the kids will like it.

I watched The Princess Bride (again) the other day it was my daughters first time.

9.98/10 obviously.

Baby Driver.

Thought it was excellent, then they revealed Brighton Rock, as a big Queen fan the rest of the film was all about waiting for the finale. Awesome.

(Probably fall asleep if you don't like music and good/bad guy films)

"Detroit ", well, that was a journey!

Where do I start. Far, far too long, disjointed and the centre section in the hotel went on for far, far, far, far, too long, by faaaaaaaaarrr.

Correct, not an enjoyable experience.

I know it was based on a true story but I would rather watch a documentary about it any day, talk about overdramatised!

5/10 and I'm being faaaaarr to generous.

Need some proper entertainment, think I'll watch "No Country For Old Men " on Friday.

As a child of the 80's and being a teen in the 90's I'm a big fan of Tarantino, but for some reason I'd never seen 'True Romance' up until last night...

loved it, VERY 90's, and Patricia Arquette is simply gorgeous in it!

I have no idea why I've never watched it before?

Both modern classics for me.

I think the Dennis Hopper/Christopher Walken scene is my favourite ever scene from a film. Both play their part so well.

Agree.

My brothers and I (who hated it) finally agreed that the only way to make it a better film would have been to shoot an alternate ending.

Whereby Sandra Bullock falls to earth and splashes into the swamp (as per the shot ending), a nice close-up on her relieved face, then she's immediately eaten by a very large crocodile in one gulp.

Any film where I very quickly hate the lead characters for the ridiculous decisions they make, deserves a new ending or plot twist. Usually a grisly one.

The Hurt Locker was surprisingly more entertaining once we (brothers and I) had rehashed the plot lines and decided on a reduction in film screen time.

(eg to abut 15 mins)

Funnily enough, that's exactly what we hoped or that she would be attacked by killer bees as she got out or bitten to death by mosquitos.
I think Clooney realised and asked to be written out....
